I bough these for a BES expedition to Norway in the summer but have been wearing them since Christmas. I have to say these are the comfiest boots I have ever worn made even better with superfeet insoles. During the cold weather I wore these with yeti gaiters and my feet have never been so warm. the goretex liner kept my feet dry 100% in all of my DofE practice walks and expeditions (I live in wales so there is constant rain!)
I chose these boots over the Manta because the were slightly less stiff, this made them easier for walking in and felt less comfy but still kept their rigidity. Overall a very worthwhile purchase!

These boots are great, they are good in all condition on winter hills. Good fit, sturdy and well made with a good lacing system. Only point is that they are not as warm as Mantas. Light weight but you need some thick socks to compensise this.

Recently bought my 1st scarpa product (scarpa charmoz gtx boot)went on 1st winter walk on Ben Cruachan,typical scottish winter conditions,rain,snow, wind and very cold.went through all sorts of terrain on the ascent & descent,at end of 8hrs on hills my feet felt good,no blisters,no discomfort,for me,brillant.
everything about this boot was spot on ,to the fitting in the silverburn ( glasgow )branch, very good advice from the shop assistant, to the comfort,look and performance. i know it'S EARLY DAYS,but i'm sure i won't be regretting this purchase.

Had these boots for a couple of months now and so far they have proven fantastic with only minor nigly issues. Everything from the look to the outfitting has been perfomance-wise brilliant, they have withstood multi-pitch climbing, mountaineering in very wet and muddy weather and high-grade scrambling.

The rubber performs very well, sticking to dry rock like glue, fantastic for smearing in on easy climbs also. On wet rock it is understandably a little weaker in this area but that goes for all boots I believe, just be careful how you tread!

The sole is very strong, it bends enough for comfort but for high grade scrambling it feels very solid and reassuring underfoot.

The lacing design allows for a really tight fit, although a little confusing to start with and when re-threading after washing, but overall it is a very neat system.

A few nigly bits I found with it: I was a bit disappointed to have the Scarpa writing on the side of the boot to be worn away so soon, almost after only a couple of walks. It doesnt decrease performance! I just like to look good! When they're clean on and they're missing half of the scarpa writing it can be heartbreaking! HA

Personally I have experienced a little rubbing at the back of the boot at the top. I believe this is just through breaking them in, it is nothing to warrant getting a new pair, maybe the right pair of socks and some grimace. No blisters from it just slight discomfort.

Overall i'd rate this 4/5. It's performance is fantastic and the few nigly bits I have with it are mainly personal. I give it 4/5 as I have not experienced them yet in winter conditions or with crampons, although I cannot wait to try them out in these conditions!

Done everything in these from Scottish Highland hiking and felling trees in winter to
Alps in summer and always been impressed. Just now giving up the ghost after many years performance so ordered my next pair. Enough said and job done.

These boots are a great all rounder, will keep your feet dry and are as great for scrambling. I have used them extensively in the UK in summer and winter and they have performed really well.

However, I spent ten days above 3,500m climbing in the alps and despite wearing two pairs of inner socks I had to wait for the sun to come up before I could really feel my toes.

The best thing about the boot is the feel of them on the feet. No blisters at all after 14 hour summit days in the Himalayas! I found they’re also great for 3 season walking although after a while they’re not the most waterproof of boots… They also feel very light which is a great bonus but this does mean they’re not the warmest of boots, something warmer might be more appropriate for cold Scottish days. Overall though an exceptionally comfy boot probably best suited to 3 season scrambles and alpine summers.

These boots are amazing, they fitted like slippers straight out of the box and have never been anything other than supportive and comfortable. Not the warmest of boots & I wouldn't recommend them for the coldest of scottish winter days, but good edges in neve and fantastic for days on the Skye ridge. As with a lot of synthetic boots, they do need frequent waterproofing or they do begin to seep on very wet days. A great pair of boots that I would buy again in a heart beat.

very light comfortable boot that fit my narrow feet well. No blisters when used straight out of the box on Bowfell and Crinkle Crags. used with Grivel crampons which fitted this boot perfectly. Feet stayed dry although not really tested as everywhere frozen. Construction up to usual scarpa standards.

I bought these boots because of their B2 rating, but have found they are an excellent boot both on a glacier and in normal walking conditions. Given the awkward shape of my feet - wide at toes, narrow at heel, I find it very hard to find boots that fit and will not cover my feet in blisters, these did the trick, even though they are much less flexible than normal boots, due to the B2 nature. I am very impressed with how well these boots cope in wet conditions, as long as they are re-waterproofed after expeds etc. They serve me well on both green treks home and abroad, and mountainous, snowy conditions alike.

Purchased this boot just over a year ago and have since used it in all conditions, from 4ft of snow in North Wales to glaciers in Alaska and green treks both in the UK and abroad. I have found that they are a good buy but they do need frequent waterproofing and cope best in cold conditions where there is no snow melt as the waterproofing is limited in extreme situations.

Used this product for two years in all terrains from Deeside walks to Skye's Pinnacle Ridge. Never failed me, kept my feet dry and wonderfully light.
