The classic SL is still a firm favourite in our range, the key feature is the 360 degree ankle flex which lies in two areas, this enhances the walking comfort of the boot and improves the flexation in the walking action without compromising the overall stability of the foot/boot. The construction has also resulted in a weight reduction of close to 10% over previous models.

Great B1-boot for Winter Reviewed By Kerstin, 21 Jan 2013

Bought the pair to use with crampons as I am off for some winter mountaineering this year. As they are much stiffer than normal walking boots, they take some time to getting used to. I basically 'cushned' the front inside a bit with gel pads to ease the pain unter toes and the front of my feet. The heal area is well cushoned already, so no blisters at all. They are perfect to go scrambling, walk in mixed terrain and put on the crampons. I am all around quite happy with my purchase. I would give it 5 stars, but for that they would have needed to be totally painless, so four+ from me.

Great boot! Reviewed By Kate, 22 Apr 2012

I've ordered this boot for an expedition I'm doing later this year, I wore them to a training event and although they were brilliant I did have problems. They're very tough boots so take a while to break in which can be a very painful experience. However by the end of the week I only had one blister which is more than I can say for some of the other members of my group with different boots. The boots are brilliant for walking however after a week there's some serious scuffing on the front of the boot from the rocky terrain we were on. I'm sure the boot will be even more comfortable once broken in a bit more.

Thanks for your feedback. We offer an expert boot fitting service in store, so if you are still having problems, pop in and one of our fully trained staff might be able to help. Sometimes a few simple tweaks, a new lacing technique or the addition a supporting insole will improve the fit and reduce the chance of blisters developing.
