Only worn these a couple of time so far over the top of some normal sock and beneath a pair of leaky site boots but so far so good. Nice warm and dry feet which in the last few weeks has been a big bonus give the cold and wet we've had in Scotland this March.
Still to test them beneath mountain bike shoes so hoping they will do the job there too.
Cotswold staff very helpful and knowledgeable too. Even managed a discussion on the merits of 20 year old Karrimor KSB's for summer hikes

These socks sit tight to the skin meaning even when water gets down your boots you feet stay dry and warm. Ideal for fishing, sailing, paddling or anything where you don't want your feet cold or your boots wet, simply remove your boots and where these alone. As I did with my sealskinz gloves I filled the socks with water to test there 100% waterproof, and held up 100% no leaks. Excellent piece of kit, would recommend buying your next size up and layering with a normal pair of socks if you are plannign on using them in winter.

When I joined a Search and Resuce squad on my first search I was wearing a normal pair of walking socks after being told about SealSkinz socks I decided to try them out, after that I've never looked back I now don't have to worry about getting cold wet feet when out searching which means I can concentrate on looking for the missing person.

Superb Solution to Leaky Boots Reviewed By James, 21 Oct 2012

After wearing the same pair of boots through my silver Duke of Edinburgh and into my Gold I had truly given them a beating. Packing for a practice expedition i realised my boots had a hole on the seam that had previously been letting water straight into my boot and drenching my sock, hence causing blisters. Without time to break in new boots a bit of lateral thinking was required and the day before the expedition the Sealskinz were bought. The classic Dartmoor range of weather followed suit; waterproofs one minute, suncream the next, needless to say the socks performed brilliantly with only one initial problem, solely (pun intended) down to me - the liner socks I had been wearing were not allowing moisture to pass through the sock. A quick break later and the liners were removed and all was well throughout the weekend. As it turns out the socks have an integrated Merino liner anyway which allows sweat to pass through the breathable membrane - which does work! Definately one of my better buys and will be purchasing their walking sock for summer trekking on the moor. Brilliant service from the Cotswold Truro store who never fail to recognise me now!

Okay I was upsold by a salesperson in Cotswold’s in Bournemouth when I was there purchasing a pair of Berghaus boots. That was the first time I had heard of waterproof socks and it conjured up an unpleasant vision of plastic lining on my feet. WAS I WRONG! If I was asked what was my most useful purchase of the year these socks would rank high on that list. Yes they do exactly what they say – they keep your feet dry - I know I stood photographing waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons with water up to my calves. Quite often the water would splash up over the boot. At no time did my feet get wet. The Merino wool interior of the socks guaranteed comfort for the entire day. I was quite surprised. If you are a landscape photographer, trekker, fisherman, or indulge in any other water based activities then these are the socks.
