When you want the convenience of trousers and shorts along your trek or travel expedition, check out the Meridian Convertible Pant.

This free fit pant's nylon construction resists abrasion and shrugs off the odd splash thanks to a water resistant finish. Then, when the sun puts in an appearance, zip off the legs at the thigh to leave a great, chunky-style short.  Gargantuan side pockets hold everything you would normally stash in your jacket and then some; side and back pockets store essentials, plus you have a passport-sized internal space at the waistband. The Meridian Convertibles are lightweight and easy to care for too, making them ideal for travel.

Roll up the cuffs while beachcombing in Tasmania, or lose the lower legs altogether whilst hiking alongside Hadrian's Wall.

Great for summer Reviewed By Anthony, 04 Apr 2013

A good fitting pair of trousers for the outdoors during summer. They are very lightweight but feel well made, and as mentioned in the other reviews, the amount of pockets is a big bonus

Great summer hiking trousers Reviewed By Alan, 22 Jul 2012

Very lightweight and quick drying trousers. Very pleased with their comfort and how strong they are. Plenty of (useful) pockets, many with zips but they don't get in the way of comfort. Excellent buy.

Super-Lightweight Trousers Reviewed By D, 20 Jun 2012

These are exceptionally lightweight, very comfortable with all the usual features of a good quality TNF product. As another reviewer has observed, their lightness could be their weakness, treat them well and they will last. I use them as the spare in the pack on trips and when the terrain is less rugged and they're outstanding for lightweight cycle touring as a pair of off-bike camp trousers, they pack so small and are so light.

Hot climate pants Reviewed By Roi, 15 May 2012

The meridian convertible pants are the thinnest per of pants north face make. They have a good fit around the whaist, around the knees the sawing can rub the back of the knee. The have a good pair of zippers and the fin fabric gives a good comfort in hot weathers. The pants come soft but after a few laundries they become stiff and less comfortable. They are very lite weghit and are good for bag backers.

For conclusion they are good per of trousers when bought in one of the store sales. They give good comfort for hot weather but they worn out faster then expected.

Superb Trousers Reviewed By John, 15 May 2012

I managed to get some of these while they were on sale and I liked them so much I immediately ordered another pair! They are very lightweight but still keep the chills out. Good quality manufacture and have an abundance of pockets as well as having both belt loops and a waist draw cord. They also have a leg roll up feature as well as being convertible. Excellent stuff!
