So I've got quite a few things to say about this jacket so i put it into a few basic points:
- very warm: the truth is, is that this jacket is an excellent insulator. It is very warm and I would highly suggest it for any day walks, or time at home.
- not to moveable: the thing is, it's a great jacket, but the shire volume of the thing makes it quite hard to move about, so I wouldn't recommend for any expedition involving climbing or kayaking.
- not great for walking with: if your hiking up a mountain, definitely take it with you, however your arms do end up getting very sweaty and sticky, but still great for putting on, on top of the mountain once you get up to stop you suffering wind chill
- looks good: this jacket is actually surprisingly comftorble and looks good, I wear it often if its a bit chilly and we are going to to look at shops
- bad in wet weather: another thing that makes this jacket not ideal for an expedition, if the jacket gets at all wet, your left with a sogy, shrivelled up rag, which looses its insulation.
- takes up space: in your rucksack you have limited space, and unlike other down jackets this actually takes up quite a lot of room and also doesn't come with a bag you can put it in so it doesn't take up space.
Apart from all the negatives this is a great jacket, if your going on walks or out and about get it, your wont regret doing it. But I wouldn't recommend it for anything above 4 day expeditions because you don't want to carry the extra weight.
