Great Waterproof Reviewed By Jonathan, 16 May 2013

Bought this jacket a couple of years ago now and it has seen me through plenty of typical wet British weather.
The jacket is well made and comfortable to wear, the Hyvent fabric is waterproof and breathable and when you start to get too warm there are large pit zips to add ventilation.
As a relatively cheap jacket from North Face I have been extremely pleased.
Coat washes well with Nik Wax and has retained its water repellancy with wash in proofer.

Excellent styling and function. Reviewed By Joe, 26 Feb 2013

Good fit/styling, great wind breaker, shower proof ( as not been in any heavy rain yet prior to this review) the fabric feels good to touch and the jacket looks Cool.
Bought this jacket for an up coming holiday as a practical rain jacket. I had ordered a TNF P8 resolve jacket, XL was to big as sizing is generous, went back to change in the shop for a large, not in stock so got the Upland, I am not disappointed with the purchase and wearing it all the time. Add a fleece for colder days, and no worries, the collar zipped up is great like wearing a scarf. The adjustable cuffs is a great for sealing out the wind, as functional as one of my old textile motorcycle jackets, for trekking on your two feet and light in weight. Pocket at chest level great for carrying phone etc, P8 jacket did not have that feature.

A Quality product, you wont go to far wrong with jacket.

Wear It Every Day Reviewed By imogen, 01 Mar 2012

This is an excellent jacket that I wear every day.
I'm 12 so cycle to school, and I've found its flexible hood makes it double up as a great cycling jacket. My dad first got it a year ago when I did some of the pennine way; it had to go through some tough weather, but managed very well. One thing I did notice though was the front flap by the chin sticks out quite a bit and rain can sometimes run down the inside of the coat. Also, the HyVent fabric takes a very long time to dry after a shower, and it can get quite sweaty underneath. The reason I din't give it five was because of the flap that sticks out but otherwise a great jacket.

A gem which sacrifices no quality for it's price!! Reviewed By Elliot, 02 Jan 2012

This jacket provides great functionality and performance at a fantastic price. It is lightweight and suitable for all the outdoor activities I do (climbing, hiking, cycling). I have found the Upland Jacket to be as waterproof as I'm ever likely to need (Hydrostatic head statistics are hard come by!). I use this jacket regularly in the Lake District (All four seasons!) and have always remained bone dry, the superior waterproofing also keeping me warm. The fit is athletic, so I would suggest moving up a size to accommodate a thick fleece in colder weather. The jacket has good breathability, although I found the pit zips were needed to maintain a sweat free interior when jogging an ascent. The material feels tough and looks quality, and no waterproofing has been lost after various scrapes against walls and rocks etc... All in all, a great value performance jacket with a stylish aesthetic which I recommend highly to regular hikers around Britain.

Everything covered: fantastically Reviewed By Duncan, 31 May 2011

I was very impressed with the initial look of the jacket. The colour scheme is very impressive; more interesting than a plain black but restrained enough to look sophisticated and stylish.
The feel of the jacket is, as you would expect from The North Face products, top class. The cuffs and velcro are comfortable and do not rub on the wrist, nasty after a days activities!
The pit zips feel different at first but they don't in anyway affect the performance of the jacket. The hood is high quality and has a peak and plenty of adjustment to get a good fit depending on the conditions. The material quality feels very heavy duty and is awesome as a waterproof and windproof shell.
I would recommend this jacket to anybody who can find themselves going about town, on the river bank, scrambling up a mountain and just about any other situation imaginable. It really is another fantastic product from The North Face

Fantastic waterproof for all outdoor activities Reviewed By Matthew, 24 May 2011

This is certainly a 'no nonesense' coat! It stands up to even the most harshest of conditions without letting in a drop of water or a whisp of wind.
Can be worn walking, hiking, and on any outdoor activiy.
Definately worth every penny you will spend :)
