Comfortable and ultra lightweight mat Reviewed By G, 25 Mar 2013

This is a really superb piece of kit, which I'd recommend to almost anyone who needs a mat to sleep on. If you're one of the brigade who saw their toothbrushes in half to save weight, then the NeoAir Xlite will appeal to your anti-gravitational proclivities. If, however, you're someone who's staying with a mate overnight who doesn't own a sofa bed, then this would also be great, as it's very comfortable to sleep on. The pack size is a similar width to a Sigg 1 litre water bottle, and it's a good few cm shorter, yet it offers remarkable comfort (it inflates to a depth of over 6cm, so you're well cushioned from the ground).I've used it on snow, and didn't feel cold, as the design is supposed to retain warm air towards the body. In every way, this mat is superior to my old inflatable mattresses, and makes my old foam roll-up pads seem like instruments of torture.
Down side? Well, it's not cheap, it crinkles a bit like a crisp bag when you move on it, and the servicable width is less than the 51cm advertised, as the sides slightly collapse when you're on it. As long as you haven't got the shoulder span of an Olympic swimmer, you should be fine.Unless you want it to be the most expensive whoopy cushion you ever bought,I'd not put it directly on rocks or abrasive surfaces, but inside a tent,a bothy or on grass,it'll be fine.
Overall, a big leap forward in mat design.

the best mat I've ever bought for comfort but recommend you blow up with a pump.

Great camping mat Reviewed By Sam, 06 Jan 2013

This is an extremely warm camping mat and it reflects a lot of your own body heat back to keep you warm. The mat is very comfortable to sleep on, almost as good my own bed at home, and it is good for side sleepers. It packs down to about the size of a 1L Nalgene bottle. And it's very light.

The only complain other than the relativity high price is that it is a little noisy when you move on top of it (think crisp packet) but other than that an overall great product.

I would also recommend getting the pump sac with this as it can save you the effort of blowing it up. Note the pump sac can double up as a chair and dry sac as well. (pump sac + mat = ~0.5kg)

Says what it does on the tin Reviewed By Andy, 04 Jun 2012

Bought this item for a 6 month trek round Africa, and have just tested on a weekend walk in the Lakes.

Found it comfy, easy to pack, small in the pack and light weight - what else do you want from a sleeping mat?
