The bottom of the VC Pro is now flatter to keep the biner a bit further away and to decrease grab. For even more bite on skinny ropes, the V slots have been deepened to give a firmer grip.

I will always use this this over a gri gri or figure 8, it's just a simple device that works well.

The VC ProII is a light weight and very effective belay device that provides added security to both the belayer and climber. It can be used for single or twin climbing. The addition of the two groves on the side of the device give an increased amount of friction, compared to earlier devices, and thus increased safety. It is cheaper than its competitors and I have been really impressed with this simple but effective bit of gear
