they've ruined the best shoe ever
Reviewed By Gavin, 28 Dec 2013

inov8 what HAVE you done?
these were my all-time favourite shoes. i kid you not, i've owned a dozen pairs myself and bought them for anyone i walk with, parents, friends...i considered them essential equipment due to the massive grip levels, superb comfort and light weight
however this time when i went to re-order, they didn't have the usual variant in my size; i was only able to order what looked like the same shoe in a different colour scheme.
how wrong i was, not to mention how disappointed. these appear to be a redesign, and a cost-cutting redesign led by accountants. and worse, after seeing the display at cotswolds it appears to go across the whole range.
gone is the mould-to-your-feet supple design we all loved, replaced by a cheap, nasty facsimile. the best way to describe it is they've gone from 3d to 2d, and they just don't grip your feet the way they used to.
even the laces are now the cheapest i've ever seen, horrible to use and touch
if anyone from inov8 reads this, i'm begging you, can the redesign, go back to making the black/grey shoes in the picture, the best shoes ever made.

and if you're a customer, get the last pairs of the old design if they have them in your size, because the new model is no substitute. suddenly i'm lost for what shoes to wear; for the last ten years the world had been a lot simpler- every year or so, fresh pair of roclite 295's.
but now the king is dead, his successor isn't up to the job, and i'm back to living in a world of badly-fitting shoes
competitors, here i come

Great Shoe
Reviewed By Edward, 23 Mar 2013

If these shoes fit your feet you will love them. I was skeptical to start with as I had heard mixed reviews but decided to buy a pair. Having run in Salomon shoes before, which I found gave me terrible shin splits, I found these shoes fantastic to run in. Super light and comfortable with a really grippy sole. They let your feet breathe and feel that you are not wearing a shoe at all. Due to the breathable mesh water will get into your foot very easily and I think that Inov-8 do a Gore-Tex version.

Comfy and good looking!
Reviewed By Jack, 17 Jul 2012

I used and abused a pair of these for over a year and they were as comfy at the end of their life as they were at the start, despite all the holes! Very lightweight and durable sole which gives great grip and somehow doesn't pick up sticky mud! The only downside with these is that the back collapsed relatively easily, although it can be propped back up with some shoe DIY! A great trail running buy.

Fantastic bit of kit!
Reviewed By Stuart , 09 Jul 2012

I have done a lot of trail and fell running and these are by far the best pair of shoes I have come across - flyweight, supportive and huuugely comfy!
