Lightweight, soft, and keeps the cold at bay

The linen-like mottled pattern and very low weight are the most distinctive features of the Womens Crystal Iceguard Jacket.

The outer material is very lightweight, wonderfully soft and very densely woven, making it windproof too. Underneath, synthetic insulation of two different thicknesses keeps the cold at bay. Metallic particles in the material ensure that the inside of the coat warms up swiftly and reflect part of the body's warmth back to you.

Lightweight and very warm
Reviewed By Teresa, 28 Nov 2014

I mast of spent at least an hour trying on several coats before I decided on the Iceguard.
I was torn between a Burghaus and this one as they were the same price. What sold it for me is that Wolfskin goes the extra mile with detail. Inside pocket for example, dual end zip and adjustable hood. Not rocket science but for me crucial. I own a couple of down coats which are very cosy but can be quite bulky. The iceguard feels as warm as my down coat and a lo lighter. I was a bit doubtful about the weight. Would it keep me warm enough. I have a 2 mile walk to work most days so need something that will keep the wind out. So far so good. Only had it a week but very happy so far.

Lightweight, windproof and stylish
Reviewed By Katalin, 25 Jan 2014

I had other Jack Wolfskin products before and on my recent trip to Germany I bumped into this jacket while shopping for a warm windproof jacket. It was the brand name then the colour that caught my eyes(I bought the grey but also liked the brown one). Nice change from the usual black.

I fell in love with the style, it fits perfectly and so light. I have another heavy winter jacket and I have muscle pain just by wearing it.

It was on sale and it looked pretty on me but I was slightly worried that it's so light and thin, and I'd be cold and wasted my money.

How pleasantly surprised I am now! I don't normally write reviews but I'm so happy with this coat that I have to share it with others.
It's amazing, it completely blocks out the wind and keeps me at a pleasant temperature. I'm someone who gets cold very easily but then I'm hot as soon as I step inside a warm place. Not in this coat!

I hope it will last many years just like the other JW products.

Fantastic lightweight but warm coat
Reviewed By Leonora, 01 Jan 2014

I love Jack Wolfskin coats for the simple reason that when you put one on you know instantly that this is the coat you have been looking for and this Crystal Iceguard Jacket is no exception.

Many coats of this style suffer from being puffy and inelegant, making the wearer look like they are wearing a duvet, just so they can get the warmth. Not so with this coat! The Crystal Iceguard Jacket is extremely lightweight and deceptively thin but due to the technology Jack Wolfskin have used it keeps you nice and toasty without it being bulky. What impresses me the most, however, is actually the maintenance of temperature. I walk two miles to work and have suffered from being freezing at the start of my journey and then boiling by the end because my coat has trapped all my heat in. With this coat, however, I find that in temperatures less than 10C it warms up to a reasonable temperature and then just keeps me at that temperature so I don't have to open and close vents or zips to regulate the heat.

This coat has a nice length (I am 5' 7" and it comes to about 6" above my knee) and what I really appreciate is the fact that the smaller sizes don't skimp on the arm length or shoulder width as you often find. I bought the small size (size 10) and can move about totally freely at my shoulders and the sleeves are a perfect length. The hood is a good depth and the nice fleecy lining of the pockets keeps my hands nice and warm.

This coat is just another fantastic example of how Jack Wolfskin never lets you down!
