I love Jack Wolfskin coats for the simple reason that when you put one on you know instantly that this is the coat you have been looking for and this Crystal Iceguard Jacket is no exception.
Many coats of this style suffer from being puffy and inelegant, making the wearer look like they are wearing a duvet, just so they can get the warmth. Not so with this coat! The Crystal Iceguard Jacket is extremely lightweight and deceptively thin but due to the technology Jack Wolfskin have used it keeps you nice and toasty without it being bulky. What impresses me the most, however, is actually the maintenance of temperature. I walk two miles to work and have suffered from being freezing at the start of my journey and then boiling by the end because my coat has trapped all my heat in. With this coat, however, I find that in temperatures less than 10C it warms up to a reasonable temperature and then just keeps me at that temperature so I don't have to open and close vents or zips to regulate the heat.
This coat has a nice length (I am 5' 7" and it comes to about 6" above my knee) and what I really appreciate is the fact that the smaller sizes don't skimp on the arm length or shoulder width as you often find. I bought the small size (size 10) and can move about totally freely at my shoulders and the sleeves are a perfect length. The hood is a good depth and the nice fleecy lining of the pockets keeps my hands nice and warm.
This coat is just another fantastic example of how Jack Wolfskin never lets you down!
