Perfect for putting in the miles, the Lowa Khumbu II GTX may be designed for staying largely on the beaten track, but is rugged enough for when you occasionally stray from it.
Covering a lot of distance on more moderate ground requires the right balance of support and flexibility: stiff mountain boots may become tiring, and soft shoes won't provide enough support for uneven terrain. The Khumbu II GTX has a high, supportive ankle and, while the sole has the rigidity and contoured shaping to provide support, it's engineered with enough flex for all-day comfort.
The balance of the rugged and the comfortable continues throughout the construction of the boot, with a mix of leather and breathable Cordura nylon used for the uppers, and a shock absorbing midsole clad in a sturdily treaded Vibram outsole taking care of business underfoot.
A boot constructed with careful balance, to make sure you don't lose yours.
