As part of the ever-popular All Terrain Collection, this robust approach shoe from Lowa is a favourite amongst outdoor enthusiasts and travellers who appreciate the importance of comfort, support and cushioning.

The Men's Renegade GTX Lo Shoe sports Lowa's new Monowrap comfort construction for a lightweight, sleek profile without compromising essential support and stability. The soft nubuck leather upper is lined with Gore-Tex, meaning it is not only flexible but fully waterproof. Because the lining is seamless, the risk of hot spots and blisters is reduced and a climate control footbed keeps feet at a comfortable temperature. This versatile, waterproof and breathable shoe is ideal for weekend adventures when you don't need the protection and weight of a full boot.

Very impressed after the first 100 miles
Reviewed By Paul, 12 Feb 2015

These are an extremely comfortable walking shoe, especially if you measured and fitted correctly by the guys at Cotswold. I have wide feet and these fit perfectly without being too long. Putting them on is a breeze as the opening is both long and wide, its like putting slippers on! After the first 100 miles in February mud they have been a real pleasure to walk in and coming up clean every time. Definitely recommend.

Best footwear I have ever owned
Reviewed By Derek, 01 Jun 2014

I thought I should wait for about a year to propley review these approach shoes. A year on and they undoubtedly the best things I have ever had in my feet. No matter what they have been through they have remained waterproof and super comfy. In addition, they look really good on whether walking in horrible conditions or sitting in a beer garden!

Lace hooks! Nice.
Reviewed By Philip, 15 Oct 2013

My review complaining about the lace holes is out of date now. The current ones are significantly different to those and are described by the recent reviewers. I am onto my third pair and they are much better without the lace holes.

Comfortable and practical
Reviewed By Neil, 23 Jun 2013

Firstly, the lace hole controversy... The previous model (which I have) has lace holes at the top, which are not fully protected by the tongue (though this has not caused leakage for me). Lowa have obviously changed the lacing arrangement on newer models, though.

I really like these shoes. Firstly, they suit my feet perfectly. I have Renegade shoes and Renegade boots, and both are super comfortable.

The shoes are excellent. They are lighter than boots, but while they (obviously) lack ankle support, they feel sturdy and give good traction. I've used them for everything from a walking holiday in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada to walks to the pub, and they've never let me down. The full leather upper and Goretex lining mean that they are a bit hot on very warm days, but I'll live with this. My part of the country tends to be a bit wet and muddy, so mesh uppers aren't always practical - leather shoes are much easier to keep clean.

I will be replacing mine with a new pair of the same. The brown are nice, but I also wish that Cotswold stocked the other colour option.

Lace Holes? And, BEST IN TEST
Reviewed By Chris, 08 Jun 2013

To answer the review by Philip whilst the Cotswold Outdoor photo shows lace holes this is misleading (and strange) - See LOWA site. There is only a pair of lace holes at the toe end and these are well protected by the tab and tongue. Suspect this is a superseded/incorrect photo or poss. old stock.
Country Walking mag (June 13) awarded these shoes "Best in Test" & 9/10. No reason to disagree.
Sturdy shoes with good ground feel. Mag stated fit is wide but actually seems fairly snug - could be due to breaking in stage.
(Pity Cotswold Outdoor don't stock the dark grey/navy).

excellent all purpose shoe
Reviewed By G , 01 Oct 2012

Great comfort and excellent all purpose shoe. Practical, good looking. Suitable for most walking conditions - and keep feet dry!

Lace holes! Bring back the Renegade I.
Reviewed By Philip, 20 Dec 2011

These have lace holes, the top hole isn't protected by the tongue and so you get wet feet. They're a great shoe for dry weather, stylish and well made, but Lowa have made this a shoe for the poseur not the walker.
