A versatile, general purpose mountain pack in the classic "crag-bag" mould.

To ensure the Half Dome doesn't get in the way when you're climbing, its slim profile is augmented with compression straps to keep it tidy. The contoured harness sticks it snugly to your back, but the stabilising waist strap has been kept narrow and unobtrusive so it can be easily folded out of the way of your harness.

Although it may be ideal for climbers, that doesn't stop the Half Dome being a very versatile daypack for anybody spending time in the mountains: stable, comfortable and with enough space to carry your gear for a day out walking in any conditions, it's a great all rounder.

It seems to be water resistant and excellent space
The hip belt doesn't give any support

V. Lightweight and perfect size for climbing and lightweight trekking. Comfortable to wear and adequately robust.
Wand pockets are too shallow. Fine for poles but not deep enough to hold a bottle securely. However for me this is a minor niggle on an otherwise excellent pack for the price (£45).

Very light, very accommodating and comfortable. Looks high quality material.
Hip belt could fit tighter - couldn't get clinch it right in - but just due to individual sizing.
