Product Information

A versatile, general purpose mountain pack in the classic "crag-bag" mould.

To ensure the Half Dome doesn't get in the way when you're climbing, its slim profile is augmented with compression straps to keep it tidy. The contoured harness sticks it snugly to your back, but the stabilising waist strap has been kept narrow and unobtrusive so it can be easily folded out of the way of your harness.

Although it may be ideal for climbers, that doesn't stop the Half Dome being a very versatile daypack for anybody spending time in the mountains: stable, comfortable and with enough space to carry your gear for a day out walking in any conditions, it's a great all rounder.

The rucksack was exactly what I needed-something small enough to just bring my computer and a few books around without it being too awkward, and also small enough for hand luggage (just about) but yet big enough for shorter (backpacking) trips when you want to travel light. It's also perfect because I can go to work with a few things in it and it doesn't look like I have a huge bag but can stop in the store on the way home and buy loads of groceries. I still haven't had massive rain on it so can't tell how waterproof it is. I don't think it's a rucksack for serious trekking, but good enough for shorter walks/not too heavy bag and going to and from places.
When reduced in size, the lid pocket feels a bit clumsy but not too bad. Would like a small inner pocket in the lid for more important stuff that you don't want to loose and/or side pockets. The shoulder strips are a bit narrow and don't have much padding which I can imagine is not good when carrying heavy things around for long but I've carried semi-heavy things for a while and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be initially. Having sensitive skin, I find the straps a tiny bit irritating for the skin when wearing a sleeveless shirt.
