Great Jacket - bad hood wire
Reviewed By Chris, 08 Aug 2014

Its taken 8 months for the wire to snap in the middle of the hood. until then this was a great jacket that stood up to a lot that the British weather had to throw at it. The hood wire is a real disappointment on what is otherwise a well very manufactured jacket.

Great jacket
Reviewed By Simon, 15 Jul 2014

I've had my jacket quite a while now and it's great. It's remained waterproof but as it's been washed numerous times it no longer beads on the outside even using re-waterproofer (still waterproof though, it doesn't go through to the inside!) It can be a little hot on the inside if you're active but the armpit zips help a little with that. It really is stretchy allowing for a great deal of movement. It is very lightweight. I'd buy another one when I need to but the one I have seems to be lasting well.

Not fit for purpose
Reviewed By Andrew, 15 May 2014

As per other reviews, I have worn this jacket on just two weekends and the shell has worn so badly where the rucksack sits, the fabric is no longer waterproof in these areas. Returned to the Cotswold store where it was purchased but they refused an exchange quoting “fair wear and tear”. Steer clear if you want a waterproof jacket that lasts longer than 2 days and think twice before shopping at Cotswold Outdoor.

Reviewed By BARRY, 25 Feb 2014

After reading various reviews brought one of these. After only being worn about a dozen times wire in hood cracked in about 8 pieces and shell starting to wear badly under rucksack strap areas,Cotswold customer service s were great though and exchanged without any fuss

Great Jacket - with wired hood that breaks
Reviewed By Peter, 22 Nov 2013

Unfortunately, a great jacket is utterly failed by an appallingly weak wired hood. Basically if you fold it, it breaks as if you were bending and breaking a bit of fuse wire. If you fold the jacket without carefully keeping the wire in the hood straight, give it a week and you find the hood wire has broken and at the break the hood edge starts fraying from the inside. Mine is broken in 2 places !! How can such a basic design flaw exist in an expensive jacket - EXTREMELY disappointed.

Never leave home without it!
Reviewed By Daniel, 08 Jul 2011

Never leave this jacket behind, the benefits out way the weight and size(which is next to nothing) in your backpack by a mile. I've used it when climbing in North Wales, you don't even no its there, the extra movement is priceless.

Reviewed By Steve, 28 Jun 2011

My needs for this type of lightweight jacket are a little bit different to most. Im a wheelchair user and need a reliable waterproof that is light, effective and packs down to a compact size for ease of carrying. The Stretch Man does all this and more with ease. Perfect for my uses!

Buy it while you can!
Reviewed By Bruce, 05 Jun 2011

A great jacket that suits my needs - lightweight, durable, breathable and waterproof.
As someone who always carries too much in my rucsacs at last a jacket that folds into a small space and remains both practical and good looking!

worth the extra money

excellent jacket really do not know you are wearing it , light weight keeps you safe from the wind and rain also freedom of movement .
we are not serious hikers but do love walking in the lakes and this jacket is just perfect for all weathers , plenty of sensible pockets in the right places and a hood that that stay in place in strong winds .
