The Nitestik Safety Marker is stronger, slicker and cooler than ever. We challenge anyone not to find a use for one! Using Photoluminescent pigment technology, the Nitestik Safety Marker is highly visible even in total darkness. Designed for marking equipment and personal property, it is useful to anything you might wish to locate in the dark. Vibrant coloured and acrylic housed the amazing Nitestik uses state-of-the-art technology that is environmentally friendly. Inside each Nitestik is a rare earth-activated alkali earth aluminate-silicate, that can continuously give off light for over 12 hours in darkness by absorption of visible light. This new age pigment will charge under light, then discharge in darkness 365 days of the year, for more than 10 years.

Find things in the dark
Reviewed By christopher, 25 Mar 2013

At £6 this is a simple and robust way to find zippers or equipment in the dark.

Simple: just use the split ring to fasten it to a zipper pull or suitable hole on your key ring/torch/equipment. Charge it up in sunlight or use a UV source. Then it glows, gently, but that's all you need in the dark.

Robust: I've used GlowRings before (small glass phials of tritium gas lined with a phosphor and put in a plastic tube just like the nitestik). GlowRings are brighter (depending on the colour). They're not quite as robust. These seem to deal with being dropped and bashed.

Well worth £6 to be able to easily find a bag, keys, torch or zipper in the dark.

Stocking Filler/Birthday Present

Got this as a filler gift for husbands birthday. Good Value 2 for £10.00 , as at Christmas bought a Glowring for the same price and it does not glow! This does.

Nitestik - small but handy glow stick
Reviewed By Scott, 29 Jan 2012

Wherever these Nitestiks are sold, the sales blurb always over sells them so that many clients are disappointed.
However I have used one for over three months now, attached to the lanyard of a torch so that I can find it in the dark, and am very happy with it.
Have just bought two more for the same purpose, to add to other torches (January 2012 - two for £10).
All three that I have are the "crystal green" colour which I understand are supposed to give off the best glow, though I can't compare as I have not tried the other colours.
If you expect a bright light then you are going to be very disappointed, if you expect a faint glow that will be sufficient to help you find something in the dark then they are excellent.

Not very good

You have to charge these up in direct sunlight for a long time to get any decent glow off them. Not ideal if you want to keep them on items that are usually packed away.

I put one of these on the pannier bag I keep my food in on my bike, so when I get a hunger strike during the night, I know where to look straight away! Of course, it has more useful uses, but that's up to you!
