The best around for it's type

After searching high and low for a really good looking but most importantly practical and durable down jacket, I stumbled across this in the Bristol store. I tried it on and could tell that it was of high quality both in style and design.

I cannot find fault with this product it fits well (Size S) and the fact that the hood is detatchable with a collar is fantastic.

I did not hesitate to purchase this, and is my first Mountain Equipment product as I normally buy North Face gear, but this was just as great!

Far better than expected

Never had a down jacket before. i thought to be warm you needed to have a substantial weight etc. No, that just isn't true. Warm from the moment I put this on in store and purchased within a few minutes after that. Great in actual use since in cold/wet. Others may be good too, but this one most certainly is!!!!

Quality product

Recently purchased this jacket, ordered from the Liverpool store and it was delivered the next day! Apparently it has been discontinued. After reading all the reviews I am pleased I now own one. Very warm, stylish and a great fit.

Love this jacket!

Great down jacket for the price. My only slight quibble is the collar and hood - the collar is a little too loose for my liking so lets heat out if you're not using the hood, and the hood doesn't really cover as much of the face as I would've liked.

Apart from that I really do rate this for if you want a really warm jacket without breaking the bank.

Great insulated jacket. You really feel it when it's bitter outside. It does need to be proper chilly first. A couple of times I've worn it and decided it's too warm. It stuffs down well in the sack and the hood is great. I looked at a lot and am pleased I picked the Classic Lightline. An easy recommend

Fantastic Jacket
Reviewed By Bradley, 16 Feb 2013

Fantastic Jacket... It has been worn throughout the winter for climbing, scrambling and general mountaineering.

The Jacket is very warm and extremely light but what surprised me the most was how compact it was when put in the stuff sack provided.

After reading a review regarding the durability of the material I was unsure whether to buy this jacket. I can now report that after 6 months of heavy use (wearing a harness and backpack) the jacket shows no signs of premature wear.

Overall I am very pleased, good quality product from Mountain Equipment as always! The fact that it is water resistant is an added bonus!

Practical and looks good too !!

I've had a 'puffer ' jacket for many years and needed to update it . I was a bit dubious at first that the Mountain Equipment jacket was going to be as warm as my old jacket as it wasn't as thick , but having warn it a few times now I'm over the moon with it ! Not only is it as , if not , warmer than my old jacket , I also don't resemble a 'Michelin man ' any more ! It's very lightweight , stylish and the hood is a lot more substantial than its competitors (removable too ) . The sales assistant in the Cotswold store in Solihull was also very helpful and knowledgeable in the product . Overall , 100% pleased in purchase.

A great product, I am really looking forward to having the weather that justifies wearing it. Just trying it on was really "toasty". Very well made with nice features.

Excellent winter jacket

Very comfortable jacket, very fluffy feel. Looks great.
Warm and well made. Down well distributed.
Two large, zipped outside pockets. One large zipped inside pocket (vertical zip not very handy).
Detachable hood fits well and can easily be detached.
My size (M) slightly generous (which is good when wearing multiple layers under jacket).
Highly recommended.
