The Lhotse Jacket thrives on the most serious mountain challenges

Mountain Equipment's Lhotse Jacket thrives on the most serious mountain challenges; from deep Scottish gullies to the forbidding south face of the mountain after which it is named. It may look simple, but the engineering behind the Lhotse is quite remarkable.

The latest Gore-Tex Pro fabric is specifically engineered for the most demanding of conditions. It is up to 28% more breathable than what went before but without any compromise of waterproofing, and it's ridiculously durable. The alpine fit has a tailored shape that eliminates bagging and billowing fabric but, as it's a serious mountain jacket, it still delivers excellent freedom of movement.

Of course, the Lhotse has a hood which offers excellent protection, whether or not you're wearing a helmet, and it has a set of pockets that will devour anything you need to hastily stow or keep to hand.

This is the best outer shell jacket I have ever bought !
I was a little worried about the money it cost initially but I have just cone down the Cairngorm mountain range from a walking holiday,
To say the weather was vairied is a vast understatement as it gave me snow, sideways rain and howling winds,
With only three layers this jacket kept everything out and also breathed perfectly and the inside of the jacket remained dry after a heavy workout, This jacket was a perfect fit for me and would recomend trying it on with the intended gear you intend to use as this worked for me, highly recomended.
No bad points at all !

Put it to the test in extreme weather conditions in Glencoe. After some 5 hours in rain and snow I was totally surprised how well the jacket stood up to the elements. It was comfortable and able to keep hands in pockets with ruc sac. The hood was superb at keeping the weather from your face. When I returned to the car all I did was give the jacket a quick shake and it was completely dry thanks to the Goretex Plus outer shell which I think does it for me. This jacket and I are going to be great friends and I would strongly recommend it for any mountain environment.
Having to take it off!!
