A versatile 3 season bag, the great value Starlight III is ideal for those getting into backpacking - or car-based camping - as well as heading off to the festivals.

A great "general purpose" sleeping bag to keep you comfortable in all but the coldest of conditions, the Starlight III stays warm and cosy in all weathers: the lightweight PolarLoft Micro filling keeps on insulating even if you suffer the misfortunate of getting it wet. An anatomical hood and insulated collar keep out the draughts, and the Expedition Fit is generous enough to allow extra layers on chilly nights. The breathable fabric and filling stop things getting stifling though, and the ¾ length sip allows you to ventilate if temperatures rise some more.

Warm, cold, wet, dry...the Starlight III Sleeping Bag is a true all rounder.

Finally, I'm not cold as I sleep! Hooray!
Reviewed By Anna, 29 Dec 2013

I bought this sleeping bag after months of looking longingly at it in the shop (there is even a pic of me lying on the floor of a Cotswold shop trying it out), and saving my money, so I was delighted to find it reduced in the post-Christmas sale enough that I could afford it! As a 6th form student with a general lack of cash what I buy has to be worth the money, and this sleeping bag is definitely worth every penny.

Ironically, the day I bought it our central heating broke. I was so smug! Everyone else was freezing, and I was snug as a bug all night. The bag is soft, I love the fact that because I went for the men's one I have foot room (it can hold someone up to 185cm), and the colour is gorgeous. Not to mention that there is a Solus collar with insulated draught tubes to stop the cold air getting in.

I decided to get a new sleeping bag after shivering myself to sleep most nights of my DofE gold practice expedition last October. This bag is heavier than my old one, slightly bigger when packed, and worth about three times the money - however, from someone who has experienced how horrible it is to be freezing and not being able to sleep, it is worth it taking up a little more space in my pack. Goodbye, old eurohike bag - you lasted a good 6 years, but you never were a match for mountain equipment products! Almost excited to do my DofE Gold final now I know I'll sleep well... Not looking forward to the inevitable English weather though!
