Tough and dependable for travel, these duffle bags are made from highly durable waterproof tarpaulin and have reinforced straps. There’s a wide, u-shaped zipped lid for easy access and two internal pockets. A perfect duffle bag for short trips away and is carry on size for most flights.

While the fabric used is waterproof to keep a lot of water out, the seams are not taped and the zip is not waterproof, therefore this cannot be considered a fully waterproof bag.

Great for changing kit
Reviewed By Nick, 22 Feb 2015

I have a couple of much larger kit bags of similar build, but this 40ltr bag is just the ticket for your change of kit, post run or bike ride. This goes in my friends car ready to swap the muddy for the warm & dry. Perfect for the trips to the gym too

Wet & Wet
Reviewed By Sylvia, 10 Sep 2014

Sturdy well designed bag but not reliably waterproof.
Purchased June 2014 for a month long trip with the 40 litre bag strapped to the pillion seat of my motorcycle. Toured Europe for 3400 miles from UK to the Adriatic in high summer.
Rain entered the bag on many occasions. I put my clothes in plastic bags which if well sealed remained largely dry, the water pooled in the bottom of the bag. The special waterproof inner bag contents felt slightly damp sometimes after really heavy prolonged rain; but I was soaking wet so everything felt damp at that time including my spirits!
I regret this purchase; even at the £40 price a leaky "waterproof" bag on first use is a mistake which could ruin your trip.

perfect size, perfect protection

i've been looking for a waterproof duffle bag for ages now until i saw this one in cotsworld. the size was just perfect for a 5 day trip in the outdoors, paired with a waterproof rucksack, you will be in the ideal shape of facing any rain in the mountains. It came in cute colors as well, so you won't look dull while traveling. Haven't used it much yet, but by the feel of the bag's lining, i am assured of its quality and lifespan. got it for half the original price so i should say, every penny is worth it.

Superb Kit bag

I was looking for a new kit bag for use for the gym amongst other things. The separate waterproof compartment is great keeping the rest of my stuff dry and clean! It's really robust too surviving all manner of abuse.

Fantastic Bag
Reviewed By Carole, 15 Oct 2013

Bought this bag as a replacement for an old one to use a carry on luggage and for weekends away. I easily fit in change of clothes, jammies, smellies etc and the bag was only half full. On my return home the separate wet/dry zipped portion of the bag fit my jeans in easily and kept it separate from my stuff to be washed. Excellent build quality. Looks good as well.

I bought the 100L version of this bag recently for a 6 month trip to Africa and was amazed at how much kit it swallowed and also it's durability whilst going through African airports... I was so amazed that when I got back I bought the 40L aswell!

The build quality of this bag is bang on and every bit of it feels more durable than the last. I use it when I go cycling and it's great for holding my warm dry clothes in the main section and has a well sized yellow drybag section for all my filthy gear.

Mountain Equipment say they'll fix it if it has a manufacturing/fabric fault but I doubt you could find a fault anywhere on it.

I never need to worry about getting cold, wet and muddy while cycling now because I know there's a waterproof bag in the boot of my car with warm dry clothes!

perfect self-description

I had a washing machine malfunction and needed to manually drain the unit. Having no bucket to hand I simply used one of these as flexible bucket - job done!

I also use another one for my car kit so that should any of the bottles of top-up fluid leak they are confined to the bag and not my car boot interior.

I own four in various sizes and colours and couldn't be happier.

Good size to go on the back of the motorbike (bungee-ed onto the pillion seat) and will keep things safe and dry. Extra compartment to keep laptop/ipad/whatever extra safe. I'm sure it will also be used for surf kit etc etc

Fantastic bag for short breaks / hand luggage /gym
Reviewed By John, 30 Sep 2012

I bought this bag mostly for day to day use and have found it great so far. The waterproof exterior works very well and the inner pocket to separate wet from dry is a great idea and has been very useful with trips to the gym etc.

The bag is a great size, and is much bigger than it looks, with the real added value of being able to be doubled up as a hand luggage bag for short breaks.

This item comes highly recommended as it's well designed, durable, and not an eyesore.

Great bag

I bought this duffle bag February of this year, when I was on a holiday in London. I needed an extra bag for the stuff I bought there. I have searched a lot, looked at The North Face duffle bags. Because my nephew had TNF I looked at that brand as well. Them we came to the store of Cotswold and I saw Mountain Equipment duffle bags, looked at the different sizes. I needed one as handluggage, so I asked wich one is best to bring with me on board of the airplane back to The Netherlands. The 40L will to the trick he said. So I bought the blue one, and even still I have no regret of buying the bag. I use it for a day to the beach or any other activity I am doing and need a bag for my stuff. The bag is very handy, big enough, great materials. It will last for years!

Replaced My Superdry Gym Bag
Reviewed By Francis, 09 Jul 2012

Just the right right for sitting upright in the gym locker and fits trainers, gym kit, toiletries and towel. Perfect size really and the zip is not under strain when full and it'll carry the weight and volume of kit I need along the corridotrs and lifts at work without knocking people over or getting in the way because of the multitudeof carying straps. All round good buy especially at the same price

So much in such a small space

I got this home yesterday from shopping at my local Cotswold and had to put it to the test, the amount i could fit in to just a 40L bag, i was amazed. There's no unwanted gaps or material that stop you from using space you wish was there. Its a brilliant buy, would recommend it to any of my family, friends and specially scouting friends

I am out on weekends/weeks away in the outdoors, campinh/hiking all the time, i brought this bag with me and it is very durable, incredibly spacious, very useful - especially with the dry back inside. I have been kayaking, surfing, canoeing etc and it is fantastic that i can keep my wet kit separated from my dry clothes without carrying it in a separate bag. the bag itself is very sturdy and incredibly light! the straps are in the right place and very useful. Probably the best use of money ive ever invested in! well done mounatin equipment!

A strong, well made kit bag
Reviewed By Thomas, 20 Jan 2012

This bag has the main things I look for when buying a holdall. A big, strong zip! Simple enough but often the most important. It has also got durable straps and strength at either ends where the shoulder strap meets the bag. This is particularly important, as in the past i've found continually carrying heavy loads, it often begins to tear in these places.

Overall a durable, good sized kit bag I would recommend to anyone.

Just Great

Excellent Duffle Dag
Reviewed By Adam, 07 Aug 2011

Surprising how much it will hold, going away for 7 days and it holds everything I need.
The quality of this bag is excellent and comparable with the £69 North Face duffle. Would be a good price even it was £50 but at £30 it's a steel. Very impressed.
