Made from a waterproof tarpaulin fabric, and augmented with an incredibly strong 1000 denier nylon base, this expedition-proven duffle has survived being handled by airport machinery, recalcitrant yaks and enthusiastic porters! A clever divider allows you to pack wet kayak kit and dry travel clothing separately.

While the fabric used is waterproof to keep a lot of water out, the seams are not taped and the zip is not waterproof, therefore this cannot be considered a fully waterproof bag.

No brainer!!
Reviewed By Rhys, 16 Oct 2014

Easily the best value for money hold-all around. Super tough, great storage options, simple, no-fuss, has a job and does it every time. They're like a Tardis too, keep throwing stuff at it and it will keep going in. The choice in colour make them easy to spot at baggage claim too. What's not to love.

Brilliant bag. I bought the 70 litre for a 2 week trip to the US. Good size and absolutely bombproof! The dry bag section is a nice touch too.

Mountain Equipment Wet & Dry Kit Bag 70L
Reviewed By Alex, 16 Dec 2013

I just received the bag, service and bag all good but a bit disappointed that the bag didn't include shoulder straps!!! For some reason I was specking the bag to have them, to make it easier to carry around. Everything else fantastic!!!

Great Kit Bag
Reviewed By Richard, 19 Nov 2013

Whether it's going travelling or taking the family on package holiday, these bags are a great all-rounder. Gone on multiple plane journeys without any significant damage and goods kept safe. Haven't used the internal 'wet-bag' in anger yet, but good for keeping separate smelly old clothes from your cleaner ones. Much cheaper than TNF and for what I need it for, perfect. Good price, too!

Fantastic value great quality kit bag
Reviewed By Peter, 28 Oct 2013

Bought it as a dry bag for motorcycle camping to keep tent, sleeping bag, mats etc dry. Very good quality material, zips are nice and strong and has a separate pocket inside aswell. Its like a tardis inside and seems like it will outlast everything we will put inside it.

Tough, practical, not flashy and at this price it is a great buy. I used one on my last trip and it did the job perfectly.

Good All Purpose Kit Bag
Reviewed By Adam, 10 Dec 2012

As a person who travels the globe at the will of the government, this bag is not only durable and can survive even the most enthusiastic baggage handler, but it can also withstand the onslaught of torrential rain and puddles whilst waiting for the next transport truck to arrive.
The top flap design is wide enough to just throw your kit through when you have to move locations quickly or get your dirty kit in and out without covering the rest of the bag in mud etc.
Shoulder straps are well made and fitted, this enables you to carry quite a bit of weight on your back without the worry of ripping the stitching.
This has now replaced my issue bag of a comparable size and I will not be going back.

Great, useful, Practical Item
Reviewed By Brooke, 19 Aug 2012

We purchased this item for sailing and diving hobbies. It is great and does everything we need it to. Plenty of room for the basics of both of our gear. Keeps our things dry before we dive/sail and stops us getting everything else wet afterwards!

I have been needing a duffle bag for ages, but was always tied between the mountain equipment duffles and the much pricier north face equivalent.

My requirements were simple, I needed a bag which was durable and versatile enough to meet the needs for kayaking gear, climbing gear, ski trips and camping equipment.

70litres seemed to fit the bill, but now the dilemma between the two brands. I began my research on forums, where there seem to be much discussion on this topic, with both bags having pros and cons. For me the NF bag has the added refinement that makes it look slightly better, but really wasn't worth the extra cash. Both bags seem to get a dazzling review for durability in all climates across the world.

However the final straw for deciding to choose the mountain equipment over TNF was when my friend chose to buy one of each, so we started to really look at each bag in detail. Even after this scrutinising we weren't any further on.

So conclusion here is, both bags are fantastic, and if you want to fork out the extra cash for TNF logo, then be my guest

I take my 70l mountain equipment bag everywhere and anywhere and its brilliant!!

From Scotland to Afghanistan
Reviewed By Jonathan, 12 Jun 2012

Robust, stylish and volumous this is for any outdoor enthusiast an essential bit of equipment. This bag has been dragged, thrown and hauled across all types of terrain. Whether you're going for a weekend away in the Highlands or months away in Afghanistan this duffle can withstand either environment. The capacity is fantastic and I can manage to fit in an endless amount of kit. It is great value for money having had it for 5 years so far. My only criticism would be the shoulder straps which could be more fitted for comfort, however, I tend not to use them and generally rely on the hand straps.

bargain bag
Reviewed By Darren, 28 May 2012

Great quality multi-purpose bag. I bought mine for taking cycling gear to events... but will use it for camping/weekends away etc too. Zips look durable (usually a weak point in previous bags/rucksacks I've owned). Only criticism would be that a small external pocket would have been good. But, overall, fantasic value.

Built to last

As a test of how spacious an robust this bag is my 12yr old daughter crawled inside it completely and then we lifted her with the handles. No problem at all!

Great Bag when weight and size is an issue
Reviewed By Phil, 19 Aug 2011

Got these for my honeymoon to Tanzania. Had weight restrictions (15kg each) and had to be soft bags for the local flights out to Safari location. Ideal choice. Great price and about the lightest you can get. Everything we needed for 2 weeks away on safari and the at the beach for the 2 of us fitted easily into 2 of these with space left over and we were under the weight limit. Both bags took a beating during our travels and are fine part from some marks on the surface.

Would highly recommend if you need a lightweight soft bag.
