Product Information

Tough, light, breathable and relentlessly waterproof

On the most committing mountain routes, anywhere in the world, the Women's Manaslu Jacket offers the complete, no frills protection required by the serious mountaineer.

The Gore-Tex Pro fabric is tough, light, breathable and relentlessly waterproof and as for being light, the whole jacket is less than 500g, despite the impressive new technology. Mountain Equipment's Storm Construction makes the best use of the new fabric, paying attention to everything; down to the finer details of the seams, the zips, even the shape of the pockets to make sure it's as waterproof as it can be.

A jacket suited to the sometimes very acrobatic pursuits of climbing, scrambling, alpinism and general mountaineering clearly needs to offer exceptional mobility too, so the Manaslu is tailored to the Mountain Equipment Women's Alpine Fit. A carefully sculpted shape, following the contours of the body to cut out bagginess but still allowing a full range of unrestricted motion. This shaping naturally includes a hood which protects while moving comfortably with your head, with or without your climbing helmet underneath it.

Absolutely dry as a bone after wearing this on the 3 Peaks Challenge where we had torrential rain & hailstorms. Light to wear but a formidable layer, comfortable, roomy pockets & great colour!
The price! Very expensive but quality costs I guess. The hood was a challenge, a little large even over my cap / beanie, took some adjusting to get right.

It's waterproof and has a good technical fit, plenty of space to pull over a helmet.
Fit isn't very generous, particularly in the arms, get the next size up if you're planning any winter adventures!
