Product Information

Tough, light, breathable and relentlessly waterproof

On the most committing mountain routes, anywhere in the world, the Women's Manaslu Jacket offers the complete, no frills protection required by the serious mountaineer.

The Gore-Tex Pro fabric is tough, light, breathable and relentlessly waterproof and as for being light, the whole jacket is less than 500g, despite the impressive new technology. Mountain Equipment's Storm Construction makes the best use of the new fabric, paying attention to everything; down to the finer details of the seams, the zips, even the shape of the pockets to make sure it's as waterproof as it can be.

A jacket suited to the sometimes very acrobatic pursuits of climbing, scrambling, alpinism and general mountaineering clearly needs to offer exceptional mobility too, so the Manaslu is tailored to the Mountain Equipment Women's Alpine Fit. A carefully sculpted shape, following the contours of the body to cut out bagginess but still allowing a full range of unrestricted motion. This shaping naturally includes a hood which protects while moving comfortably with your head, with or without your climbing helmet underneath it.

Aberdeen Enthusiast
Excellent waterproof properties even in demanding situations, I have climbed several hills in poor weather in Scotland, and had no problem at all.
Good design of pockets, hood, zips are big, easy to spot and easy to sip up or unzip as required, the double front zip can be opened on the low side to help breathability while keeping neck and shoulders covered.
Very light material. A very versatile jacket. I used to take 2 different ones in my all-day walk and will now only take this one, it just works in all situations.
Nice mix of coulours!
I am quite short, so when fully zipped up, the collar and hood don't always fit well around my face. It should be OK for most people though.
If totally zipped up, breathability is reduced, like for any jacket of this type.

Horsha, Enthusiast
I love this jacket! Bought it for a weeks adventure training on Dartmoor, weather was very mixed and after several hours of total downpour, I was the only one who stayed dry!

Well fitted and styled. Appropriate length. Easy to pack into rucksack.
Good colour.
Pocket(s) in odd places and not all deep enough.
