The legendary, iconic Opinel pocket knife, made even more rugged and wilderness-ready!

The blade is secured by Opinel's Virobloc twist-collar system, and is made using high grade Sandvik stainless steel for corrosion resistance in the face of the great outdoors. It's thick too, for greater strength, and has a shackle key built into it, useful for those of a more nautical persuasion!

In an emergency, realising that you haven't sharpened your knife can be a serious issue: the blade of the Opinel No. 8 Outdoor Knife has a 3.5cm serrated section to get through natural or synthetic ropes quickly and easily, when it really matters. The durable, grippy, synthetic handle is resistant to extremes of temperature and to water, as well as having a pealess 110 decibel whistle built into it.

A knife which is built to last and built to work, the Opinel No. 8 Outdoor is perfect for sporting activities at sea and in the mountains: climbing, mountaineering, paragliding, trekking, canyoning, potholing, sailing, and nautical activities.

A good solid bushcraft / survival knife which can also be used as an EDC as well. Good all round vfm.

Liked the two tone design which would make it easier to find if dropped outdoors, weight, and loop hole. For cord, if desired.
Don't like the serrated section on the
Blade, if kept sharp it does not need this.
The serrated section also takes up too much of the blade. Not handy if you wish to choke up on the blade to do carving or delicate work.
Do not care at all for the fancy wrapping
Presentation, as this prevents examination of the item prior to making
A purchase . Really prefer the standard
Beech wood handle on the Standard
Opinel knives of which I have a couple

Sharp and simple. A proper knife.
I'd prefer a wooden handle instead of plastic. I'd also be happier without the shackle key slot in the blade: hard to clean and looks to me like it's probably dangerous to actually use.
