Product Information

A classic pack for overnights to extended trips, the Osprey Aether 70 is also a staple of alpine endeavours.

Lashed securely to your back with NeoSpacer harness system and IsoForm CM hipbelt, the Osprey Aether 70 Rucksack is a really comfortable carry. Although sized for different back lengths, the Airscape back is adjustable within those sizes to ensure a close, comfortable fit.

As well as the large main compartment - which is accessed either through the top or through a front zip-panel - the pocketed lid is removable and forms a convenient lumbar pack, and the base of the bag has an access zip with a removable divider, forming a sleeping bag compartment.

To ensure all that carrying capacity works in conjunction with the harness, Osprey's Straight Jacket compression system tightens the load firmly into place.

Very well fitting rucksack - certainly better than the old EyeMountaineer nonsense I used to own. Cotswold will custom heat-mould the hip belt for you and adjust the back and shoulder straps to your shape. Not taken it on any long trips yet, so can't really comment on that. Overall, it's a very well thought out bag - as you can expect from Osprey. I expect it to last many years.
I used the pack for one (very rough, to be fair) overnight trip and found a couple of threads loose on the easy-access J-Zip. Cotswold replaced it without any issues. (note: Assistant in store said that the fibres may just be excess stitching, so wouldn't compromise the working of the bag, but was happy to replace it anyway). Other than that, it's worked well so far.

Belper Expert
The pack works really well. Very comfortable even when fully loaded at 24kg and walking uphill for 2 hours into a mountain hut in Slovakia last week. It packed well, felt robust and was comfortable.
It doesn't have the high quality feel or aesthetics of other makes. The choice of colour was bland (Navy blue). The waist band is a little big. I'm a 32" waist and I had it right to the limit to get it tight and it could still have done with being a little tighter.
