An unrivalled level of stability and comfort

A defining blend of forward thinking technology and comfort driven performance make Osprey's Talon 44 Rucksack a stunningly effective pack for all-day blasts or lightweight weekenders. By hugging the body close to its centre of gravity it provides an unrivalled level of stability and comfort.

The AirScape back panel has foam ridges that fit to the contours of your body, keeping the load close and aiding your stability. Air chimneys run through the foam, letting air circulate around your back to keep you cool.

The BioStretch harness and hipbelt are shaped to provide comfortable contact with your body and they work with the back panel to reduce the movement of the pack when you are moving fast. The single ErgoPull waistbelt simplifies the attachment of the hipbelt.

This largest pack of the Talon family uses a peripheral aluminium frame to spread the potentially heavier load equally across the lumber part of your back. The frame is given a head cup to ensure you can move your head freely without catching it. Lower zip access lets you organise your kit so that vital items are easier to get to.

With the Stow-on-the-Go feature, you can quickly and easily attach and release your trekking poles without having to take the pack off your back or stretch uncomfortably, and the LidLock feature lets you secure a helmet to the pack.

The Power Mesh front stretch pocket will swallow all manner of gear, be it a fleece or a flask.

Great Pack - well worth a look
Reviewed By Ian, 17 Oct 2014

I have a couple of other Osprey packs, and was looking for something mid-sized for an overnighter, and a larger Winter day pack to to cope with camera and lenses.
I used it recently in Wales for a wild camp, pack was fully loaded, around 12kg all in. Lid pockets are a good size, I use the top for lunch/mug/snacks and inner for wallet/phone. Side pockets are a good size, nice and stretchy - didn't lose anything. The front stretch pocket is brilliant, enough room for waterproof trousers and my oversize gore-tex jacket!
I've got Black Diamond Z poles and stashed them out of the way using the ice axe loops - this works a lot better for me.
Inside plenty of room for kit needed for an overnight. Don't forget there isn't a rain cover - dry bags essential for North Wales :-) Didn't need the bottom zip for this trip.
I put the tent on the outside ( small Terra Nova), using straps on the bottom of the pack, convenient for this overnighter.
Hip pockets perfect size for hat gloves and Sawyer mini-filter.
Comfort wise i was at the limit to what would really work for me and this pack, straps are pretty good, but anymore weight would be uncomfortable.
There's plenty of adjustment to get position right on back, and back system works to keep temperature moderate on my back.

If I could I'd add an integral rain-cover and more substantial belts - but then it wouldn't be the weight it is.

It's a good lightweight construction, worth and look and for me well worth the investment!

Versatile day-3 day pack
Reviewed By Jonny, 08 Aug 2014

I got this after 2 years of a Berghaus Torridon 65 - I didn't need that much extra space for me to inevitably fill up with rubbish.
This is perfect for me. Takes everything I need for a 3 day trek, with ease (S/M 42L)
And then when I don't want to fill it up with a tent, sleeping mat, stove, sleeping bag (you get the picture)
It just compresses down and hey ho, you have a day bag.
The quality is exceptional, it's 'light shower' resistant (would recommend a rain cover or lining it in heavy rain) and the hydration pouch system (external of the main bag, in between back pad and lid) leaves you room in the main compartment as well as having the option to feed the tube left or right. Tonnes of features and enough room. Best backpack I've invested in.

Brilliant Rucksack
Reviewed By Sean, 25 Feb 2014

After researching many rucksacks for upcoming hikes & my Mountain Leader Summer course I decided on this one, it is very comfortable, lovely fitting to my back & held the weight really well, lots of space inside I had warm kit in there along with my flask, food, waterbottles & my hydration pack, I also lined the rucksack with a waterproof liner. Anyone wanting a rucksack then look no further this is the one for you.
