A clean-lined, lightweight, bomproof alpine pack for done-in-a-day mountain assaults.

For alpinism and ski-mountaineering, the Variant offers an impressive set of features but nevertheless, when stripped down to its minimum weight, it tips the scales at a mere kilo. Everything the serious alpine activist needs is there: reinforced haul loops, quick release compression straps for easy lashing of skis, modular ice tool attachments, a crampon pocket integrated into the front compression shield and a rope strap under the lid. The attention to detail continues into the fabric choice: the back panel and hipbelt are lined with a snow-shedding fabric to prevent frost accumulating in sub-zero conditions.

For stripped back streamlining, the hipbelt, lid, framesheet and seatpad are removable.
