Petzl Tikka 2014 superb purchase!!!
Reviewed By David, 31 May 2014

I chose the Tikka 2014 because I expected it to provide good light for the very reasonable price. Angus at Cotswold, Belfast, was also very knowledgable about all the head torch products and he was a great assistance. My many years experience working in the outdoors has taught me that the brand Petzl have always been robust enough to last on the many expeditions I lead. The 3AAA batteries are easy to load, it has a comfortable fit that is easily adjustable for when one is wearing a hat/helmet and it gave a good output for use at nighttime in the jungles of Vietnam, also worked very well on a few night navigation exercises in the beautiful Mournes Mountains in Northern Ireland.

The device works very well, given it's low cost I was impressed by the distance of visibility the torch gave on its main beam setting for picking out features. The economic setting was also more than adequate for reading maps and other close work i.e. cooking/tent. The area around the LED glows strongly luminous after you turn it off. This is very handy for finding it when you set it down at nighttime or when nature calls at 3am.

The switch is a good one with little chance of accidentally turning on and easily controlled.

I very much recommend this product from Petzl!
