Product Information

20% OFF TENTS & SLEEPING BAGS

The Rab Ascent 500 Sleeping Bag offers fantastic value for money, quality build and construction, durability and low weight for the warmth of the bag. It is designed in a semi rectangular shape that is more user friendly for general purpose use or for those buying their first Down bag.

The Pertex Microlight fabric with its soft handling makes a snug and comfortable lining that helps keeps you comfortable and warm, when the dernier of the same fabric is increased and woven with ripstop it creates a strong, lightweight, windproof and breathable fabric, perfect for the shell of a sleeping bag.

The main insulation of the bag comes from 500g of 650 Fill Power European Duck Down, while an internal neck baffle and drawstring hood help reduce any drafts which might cool the bag down. An anti-snag webbing tape behind the zip ensures a smooth close while an angled foot box ensures your feet are not feeling trapped but instead warm and snug.

Pack size is great if you are hiking. It was lovely and warm for camping in early May without wearing any additional layers. Plenty of room to move around in due to it not being as tapered as some bags. Once unpacked it fluffs up really well. It has a seperate bag to store it in when it's not in use, which keeps it from being crushed down all the time, this will then keep your down in a better condition. I needed a bag that was light weight, small pack size and 3 season warmth for hiking with and this is perfect!
I'm not sure if the compression bag is waterproof so I put it in a dry bag first and then use the compression bag so it would have been better if it was supplied with a dry bag.
The price is not cheap but then I'm looking at it as an investment and lasting a long time due to it's quality.

Just coming back from Everest base camp trekking. I used this sleeping bag its very warm, I did buy a silk liner as well. At just over a 1 kg in weight it was perfect.
Nothing bad to say. RAB products are the best
