The gloves were brought for mountain use and skiing in warmer climbs. I have a pair of mits for colder weather conditions.
The gloves give very good feel and protection from the cold. Even though they are not waterproof after using them for a whole day picking up wet skis the palms only just started to feel damp in the last 20 minutes. The sharp edges of the skis hardly touched the leather palms and there is only very minor abrasions. All in all they preformed excellently and will be doing another 3 weeks skiing in them shortly. The only thing I will be doing to them is treating the leather palms.
A lanyard on the skirt of the glove would not go a miss so that you don't have to juggle your glove when you need one removed for more dextrose tasks, however there seems to be 2 mounting points inside the skirt for something like that which I will be doing myself.
