Superb breathability with wind and rain resistance

The Men's Vapour-rise Jacket is an incredibly breathable yet wind and water resistant softshell that can be worn next to skin or as a mid or outer layer.

The Vapour-rise system uses a microfleece inner fabric to wick perspiration away from the skin then the Pertex Equilibrium outer fabric pulls this moisture to the outside of the fabric where it quickly dries. This system makes the Vapour Rise Jacket ideal for a wide range of activities from hiking and climbing to polar exploring.

As well as fantastic moisture management, the outer is wind resistant and has a DWR finish to shed rain and snow. The fleece lining also provides a good dose of warmth for when the temperature drops.

The hood is helmet compatible and fully adjustable so you can find a great fit, and also has a wired peak and a roll-down tab.

Almost perfect
Reviewed By chris, 04 May 2014

I had been looking for a winter 'goto' jacket for sometime and hoped this would be it. It is well made and a great fit. Technically brilliant. But, I find it a little "too breathable", cold permeates in strong winter winds. Overall it's great to wear, pit zips are always a great bonus, hood and pockets are excellent. Length could be better, but not a deal breaker. I'm very impressed with this jacket, it really is an innovation marvel, but not quite the 'winter proof' jacket I had hoped for, but would still strongly recommend.

lightweight comfort

A really cozy jacket, the best feature for me is the hood which is warm and quiet whilst wearing(no crinkling noises disturbing your hearing).
One small thing the sleeves are slightly cold on the inside of the elbows in cold conditions overall Fantastic value just go and buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic weather resistant jacket

Very good value. Light, versatile and excellent all round jacket. Easily stores away. Very happy with it.

Windproof and breathable? Yes indeed.

Not only is this extremely windproof it is the best jacket that I have tried that breathes this well. I often wear a padded jacket under a shell for insulation in the winter months in the Cairngorms and when you come to disrobe later you find a lot of moisture in the layers. With this jacket you don't. I was really surprised at how well this jacket performs. Thoroughly recommended.

Awesome Jacket !

Purchased this jacket and im very happy. Not as thick as some other branded Soft-shells which in my opinion makes it better for layering. I will be wearing this jacket as a mid layer or to fit over a fleece when climbing in harsh winters! On the whole a great jacket at a great price. Would recommend !

Fantastic soft shell

Fit and Aesthetics:
The large fits me perfectly (6 ft tall, 13stone). It has plenty of room underneath to allow layering in warm weather, yet isn't baggy by any means, and looks quite fitted and smart - at home either out walking/mountaineering or just if it's a bit nippy on the way to the pub without making you look like a wally.

This is incredibly warm and windproof. While it hasn't been the coldest winter to test it out in, the wind has been more than ample to keep many indoors. Out walking in December with gale force winds I suffered no wind chill with only a merino base under it, when the few others I saw looked wrapped up for a polar expedition. It was also very breathable, and I felt totally dry throughout.

In summary this comes highly recommended, and is now a firm favourite for all outdoor activities.

Great light weight windproof
Reviewed By Ray, 31 Dec 2013

Having found soft shell jackets a touch too warm in some conditions, I bought this at the promotion price. It has all the features I want. Vents under arms, decent pockets, wired hood, and its light enough to wear under a down jacket or waterproofs in necessary.
