Best top I ever used for high intensity activity
Reviewed By Hans, 20 Jan 2015

No one, I mean no one, runs or rides their mountain bike hotter and sweatier than I do (though many do it better and faster).
Out of the many proclaimed super garments I've tried, and they are many; I'm a functional wear geek, this one wins the comfort, breathability and versatility price hands down. I wear it as a base, middle or outer layer; preferably as a base directly on bare skin since no base layer I've tried can keep up with the moisture transfer rate of the jacket. That the unbelievable breathability comes at the cost of quite a bit of wind and rain resistance is very rarely a problem IRL, but if standing still on an exposed crest a hardshell worn on top is probably called for. Pack this jacket, a thin base layer and a super breathable hardshell (for me that 's a GoreTex Active with pit zips, believe me; they make sense even on a GT Active jacket), and you have an extremely flexible setup to challenge changing hostile weather.
This is the closest I've come to an active wear garment that actually deserves the "game changing" monicker. And no, I'm not on anyone's payroll for saying this.

Fantastic all-rounder
Reviewed By chris, 04 May 2014

What a great piece of gear by Rab. Considering the weight it is a remarkable jacket at keeping out the chill and light showers. As soon as you put it on you can really feel the difference. It only weighs slightly more than a winter baselayer, but protects you very well from all but heavy rain or winter conditions. A perfect part of any layering system. Well made, great hood, good pockets etc etc. Generally most products get few, if any reviews. But when you see how many this jacket gets on all sites, you can be sure it is worth every penny and will easily become your 'goto' jacket.

Great buy for everyone.
Reviewed By Timo, 01 Dec 2013

This jacket has seen me successfully through plenty from the Cairngorms in winter to cycling to is a great fit for both activities and is very warm and windproof. Nevertheless it is amazingly breathable even when cycling for prolonged periods of time.
There are a couple of quibbles(?) that i have; 1) Things can get caught on the hem draw-cord loops. 2) Sometimes the bottom zip can move upwards when the hem is tightened around the waist.
However i thinks its a great jacket that's well worth the price.

Good fit for tall guys
Reviewed By Julie, 08 Sep 2013

This is a great jacket for chilly but sunny days. It is surprisingly effective for such a light jacket. The fit is great for us tall guys, with extra length in the sleeves and a touch longer in the body, so typical of Rab, they think of everything and everyone!

Great all round jacket

Great jacket, various colours are superb, however the price is far to expensive! Many other retailers do it for nearly half of this!

Superb piece of kit.
Reviewed By Mark, 08 May 2012

Great piece of kit either treking in the outdoors or up on the roof where i earn my living.Extremely windproof and cosy, love the wired peak and adjustment's that make it snug.A light jacket with great wicking qualities that has saved me on numerous weekends and during the week when i've been in situations where i've got no choice but to stay on the roof to get it watertight. Tough allrounder.

Fantastic for spring time weather
Reviewed By David, 05 May 2012

Got four of these branded with our work logo, mainly for use during fieldwork on the beach as well as mountain activities. It's very lightweight but the fabric is good quality. The pockets are a decent size and the cut allows easy access to trouser/short pockets. Love the wired hood - missing on so many jackets, allowing real control over the hood fit. Worn through a number a heavy rain showers and kept me dry and warm with no problem.

Wouldn't stand up to heavy, persistent rain, both otherwise a top buy.

Highly Functional

light, packable and great for the areas.
Hood could do with a better stow away system

Versatile performer

A very comfortable light and airy jacket, keeps the wind and light rain out but breathes very well preventing overheating when on the move.
