Useful but big

I bought a couple of these to make more use of my tarp other than using walking poles. They are straightforward to use and as they are telescopic the three sections can easily be adjusted by twisting them like a walking pole which makes rigging a level tarp on uneven ground very easy.

The base of the pole has a rubber foot which seems to provide adequate grip on various surfaces even when the wind gets up.

The top of the poles has a spike which can be used for tarps with eyelets or you can wrap loops around for tarps like a DD Tarp. There are two solid plastic loops either side of the spike which are large enough to attach mini carabineers/guy lines or bungee cords too to secure the poles in position.

The poles extend to 230cm which is high enough to walk under for a camp kitchen/group shelter or you can lower them down to 95cm for a small tarp shelter to sleep under.

The poles are relatively light weight but they are quite chunky & long to carry. They are more suitable for canoe/car camping rather than carrying them when trekking when it just as easy to set up the tarp with walking poles.

Well made and versatile

Was initially a bit sceptical about paying £34 for two poles to support my tarp but now having used them to provide shelter over a rainy and windy weekend camping trip I can appreciate that I wouldn't have got away with anything not as strong. Great that they are adjustable and are relatively low in weight. Just wish they were a little shorter when compacted.
