Product Information

The ideal approach shoe should be tough, well protected and provide enough support for easy climbing but comfy enough for the approach walk. The Crux takes technologies that have been developed in Scarpa's trekking and climbing range and combines them to give a hybrid that has all of the characteristics required to be a top approach shoe.

Toughness is provided by using quality suede in the upper, a rubber toe and heel rand gives protection whilst the Vibram Vertical sole with sticky rubber, tough EVA midsole and forefoot cradle system ensures support and confidence. It’s not just the colour that’s green, they’re made using 50% recycled polyester in the lining and mesh!

Fareham Beginner
They are very light yet strong. I recently completed an 11 mile walk in them, the walk included 2 very steep hills as well as flat in mud and dry conditions and the shoes managed very well and no blisters, for my first 11 mile walk I think that says something about these shoes.
They did feel a bit tight across the top of my toes but I would imagine they will be fine once worn in a little.

I bought these for everyday use on a mix of on-road and off-road surfaces, and to save my pair of Scarpa Margarita's, which are fabulously comfortable around town but less robust.

Lacing is simple and enables adjustments to provide a secure, comfortable fit whilst the sole provides a stable and cushioned platform. The shoe breathes well and feet are not hot.

I am extremely pleased these shoes, they have exceeded my expectations in comfort, and I wholeheartedly recommend them.
Only cosmetic, in that the day-glo fabric stripes at the front of the show are a bit distracting.
