Scarpa have designed the Velocity V Climbing Shoe to be an all rounder that can be suited to beginners as well as experienced climbers alike. They are sized with comfort in mind, but more experienced climbers are able to size down to achieve a more precise and technical fit. The flat footed profile is relatively easy on the feet, and will appeal to novice climbers and those more experienced who are looking for day long comfort. The two opposing velcro straps are quick to secure and release, yet give a firm hold around the foot, making the Velocity a great indoor wall shoe.

Great shoe for beginner-intermediates or for long sessions.
One of the few vegan friendly synthetic climbing shoes!
Synthetic = stinking shoes.

I have wide feet and after trying on many pairs I thought I'd never find a rock shoe that would be comfortable, once I put the Velocity on I knew they were the ones I needed. I'm a beginner so I have gone for comfort rather than the technical tight fit. I have only worn them once at the moment for a 2hr session but I felt no discomfort at all. I was nto sure about velcro fastening as some articles I read suggested laces gave you more options to tighten the boot in certain areas, perhaps that is more relevant to more experienced climbers. The velcor does secure them well and another plus for the fit to my foot was only having 2 velcor straps, some others had 3 velcro straps and one always seemed to be in an unsuitable location across the foot makign it feel uncomfortable. A little expensive for a beginner shoe but you get what you pay for, if you try on the budget shoes and then the velocity I am sure you will choose the velocity, whats the point in buying a cheap shoe you are only going to wear once.
