Some small compasses do not have a magnifying glass which this does.
There is no romer as such on it so being able to get an accurate grid reference can be slow - there is a 1:25 scale on the side but no romer.
Also not sure about the accuracy of the needle, doesn't match up completely with my old compass (could be that, that is wrong but I've it years and not had any problems with my bearings)
