The North Face Men's Alpine Project Jacket is a Summit Series technical jacket for demanding climbs in the worst conditions.
The Gore-Tex Active shell technology ensures stunning levels of breathability and weatherproofing at a very low weight, making it ideal for alpine style climbing: a fast moving, technical discipline where you carry nothing you don't need. An alpine climbing fit allows an excellent range of motion without an excess of fabric that can snare winds or pointed rocks.
The hood is fully adjustable to ensure a close fit and is compatible with mountaineering helmets. The laminated brim stands proud to keep the weather off your face.
The handwarmer pockets are carefully placed to ensure easy access when you are wearing a backpack or a climbing harness. When your body temperature rises, the pit vents can be unzipped to allow heat to escape so you remain comfortable.
Like all Summit Series products, the Alpine Project Jacket has been athlete tested and expedition proven.

Bought this jacket last week, and since then I have used it numerous times in bad weather. The water just beads off, and when wearing it, I feel that there is no chance of getting wet; so far I haven't. The pockets are a perfect size, especially when carrying an OS map, but they fit almost everything a person needs. You can access them whilst wearing a rucksack as they are not restricted by the straps. They are also a perfect height for casual wear, and you can just slide your hands in when the pockets are fully open. The pit zips are perfect for when the weather is warmer, and provide great extra breath-ability. Another great feature is the wired peak in the hood. It is the first raincoat I've ever had that fits my head perfectly, and when I turn my head, the hood turns with me. It is a great jacket, highly waterproof and breathable, and well worth the £200
