High performance, Heatseeker insulated inner under a waterproof outer

Using a warm, high performance Heatseeker insulated inner under a waterproof outer, The North Face Amp Triclimate Jacket seizes on the 3 in 1 concept and takes it to the next level.

The versatility of 3 in 1 jackets has made them justifiably popular, as they offer options to cover all seasons, conditions and a range of activities. Where they traditionally use a fleece inner however, The North Face Amp Triclimate Jacket uses a lightweight, compressible, durable Heastseeker synthetic insulated jacket. This provides fleece-like warmth but packs down smaller when space is crucial and, as it's made using a wind and water resistant shell fabric, it offers more weather protection than fleece too.

The outer jacket of the Amp Triclimate is a made using rugged HyVent fabric - The North Face's renowned waterproof and breathable technology - to ensure maximum defence against the elements. On its own, the outer makes a useful waterproof shell for wet conditions and milder temperatures; the inner provides breathable warmth on clearer days. Link the two together and you have a warm, waterproof jacket to shake off even the worst of the winter weather.

Whether you need protection from driving wind and rain on the hill, or just want to stay warm and dry about town, you won't want to take this jacket off!

Great jacket, great service.

Bought this jacket mainly for long commutes, but also for walking out and about. Brilliantly comfortable, very warm and great value for money. And the service in the Chester store was fantastic, helpful staff.

My favourite!

Amazingly warm and wind protective, this jacket is better than any jacket I have ever had. Sadly I left it in Afghanistan by mistake. The jacket has a perfect inner lining suitable for very cold climates. It can be removed too which is brilliant, personally I think its well worth the money and would recommend it to everyone. It cant be beaten on price, comfort, style and suitability.

Perfect Outdoor Jacket
Reviewed By Andrew , 10 Aug 2013

Amazing Outdoor Jacket. Bought this Jacket for My Gold D of E and so far it has withstood the wind and driving rain of the Brecon Beacons and the Lake District

In the Brecons it withstood strong winds as I hiked across the ridge. The outer layer not only allows any water to run off but when I fell and my arm landed into a bog the muddy water just ran off without leaving a trace.

The outer layer alone, without the fleece kept me warm as long as I was moving and the synthetic fleece was perfect once I had stopped moving. Never once was I cold, even when the temperature dropped below freezing, this jacket kept me warm.

The hyvent waterproofing technology is always under some speculation and no one is ever sure what it's actual rating is compared to other jackets, but I haven't had a single problem with it, although I have yet to test it in snow! After reading around however, I think it's waterproof rating is somewhere in the region of 20,000mm which is very substantial and will stand up to almost any weather condition.

The synthetic fleece inner is also showerproof meaning it will stand up to some light showers without you getting drenched, but it won't do well against any substantial rain.

The only downside of the jacket in my mind would be that it is a little short at the front and I would prefer it to be longer so that rain could run off further down my leg, however this is a small price to pay for such an amazing jacket. I don't go anywhere without it.

For the discounted price you can't beat it.

The Best Jacket I EVER Had

Great jacket for most conditions
Reviewed By Richard, 01 Jul 2013

Recently purchased this jacket for a hiking holiday in the Austrian Tirol. Although this was a summer holiday (late june), we had heavy snow fall and some cold conditions, interspersed with warmer, but wet conditions. this jacket really came into its own, providing reliable waterproof performance, without being too warm for active hiking and climbing, with the liner removed, but comfortable warmth in the colder evenings with the great liner in place. I also love that the jacket is so lightweight and the liner highly compressable, making for easy packing and carriage when not needed.

Winter fishing jacket
Reviewed By Warren, 20 Jun 2013

I have just come back from 10 days in New Zealand. Staying at Turangi and fishing the Tongariro River for trout. Standing in the Tongariro with waders on the coat kept me waterproof in the rain and dry and warm in the cold.

I hooked a rainbow grout and fell over while some water enter my arm the coat and quickly dried and was still wearable

This coat is excellent light stylish and warm

Good fit, very warm

Looked around at various jackets but found this to be the best fit, very comfortable and it stood the test of 4ft snow drifts in the Peak District, highly recommended

Brilliant winter jacket
Reviewed By John, 07 Feb 2013

Bought this jacket recently and its the perfect lightweight winter jacket. Living up in Scotland it does exactly the job it was bought for. Waterproof for walking the mutt and still enough of a jacket to hit the local hills. The right amount of storage in decent sized pockets. the only downside I would say to it is the hood, there is the worlds smallest zip to hold it on and its impossible to roll it up and keep it neat when not required. That however is a small gripe as it takes two seconds to unzip and stow it in a daysack.

Wear this in some cold and windy places in China and have not felt either yet.
Could be longer but that is just a personal preference.

Comfortable and warm, good value

Though I haven't yet worn this 'in anger' I feel it has all the attributes to keep me warm and dry. And though it's light it's well made and I expect it to be durable.

No complaints with this jacket!
Reviewed By Nigel, 14 Dec 2012

I have owned this jacket for about a month now and am using it daily when walking the dog early in the morning and late at night, in sub zero temperatures. It is very warm and comfortable, and the design is great. Everything on the jacket feels sturdy and well made. I would definitely recommend this jacket for anyone wanting to stay warm this winter, and the great thing is when spring and summer come round I can still get use out of it without overheating!

Bargain buy comfortable jacket
Reviewed By Oliver, 06 Dec 2012

Nice jacket and well insulated. Really warm and comfortable to wear. The only thing that knocks it down a star is the fact I can't wear it without giving myself and others lots of electric shocks, when wearing the two layers. Every time I go to open a door or shake some ones hand I end up shocking them but if you can live with that, which I can, it's a really tidy jacket at a bargain price.
