Light, packable, reliably warm performance for cold climbs

The North Face Men's Thunder Micro Jacket is a Summit Series technical down jacket with packable warmth for cold climbs.

The light nylon shell has slim down chambers with deep baffles to retain more warmth. The 800 down filling has a hydrophobic treatment so it stays dry longer than untreated down to maintain its loft and consequently its insulation. The underarm panels are treated with FlashDry, which helps regulate body temperature by accelerating moisture transportation. An alpine climbing fit allows an excellent range of motion without an excess of fabric that could snare winds or pointed rocks.

The handwarmer pockets are carefully placed to allow easy access when you are wearing a backpack or a climbing harness and the chest pocket provides quick access to small essentials.

Like all Summit Series products, the Thunder Micro Jacket has been athlete tested and expedition proven.

This product is part of the Summit Series - the pinnacle of The North Face range offering the latest innovations in outdoor gear, expedition tested by professional athletes. Find out more

as usual first class gear from the north face.this is just what i have been looking for.i wanted a good warm very light shower proof jacket to wear on my e bike to keep the chill out but without getting to hot and small enough to carry around.

Excellent fit and features
Reviewed By Nathan, 12 Jan 2014

As with most North Face gear, this fits slim build people well, and the arms are plenty long. Really nice fit and details, like the way it packs into its pocket or the hidden internal cuff shield thingys! Underarm stretchy panels are a great idea for ventilation. And of course, it's very warm despite its weight. Recommended!

Warm and offers great freedom of movement
Reviewed By David, 11 Jan 2014

This jacket works well with your body temperature, and you are rarely too warm or too cold. If compared with a tri-climate, this jacket has far greater freedom of movement whilst still offering exception warmth in all situations.

It is not water proof but very water resistant and being very thin and light can been worn on its own in light rain or under a water proof jacket in a storm.

I have experienced no problems with the quality of the jacket, nor in the functionality of the jacket.

Overall, I'm very happy with it and would recommend it if you're not looking for a waterproof jacket and enjoy being warm into matter where you are.
