These boots offer me alot of support over a range of terrain. As an enthusiastic walker I find that the Vibram sole is very sturdy which offers me support whilst walking or climbing. On the other hand the X-frame which these unique boots posses allows some flexibility in the ankle and therefore make walking comfortable. These boots can be used for anything from hill walking to glacial walking as they are crampon compatible. The crampon fit with these boots makes them easy to apply and the crampons fit very well. The sole of the Verto S4K GTX's are grippy and at the toe area there is a climbing zone which makes these boots very good for scrambling, rock face climbing and bouldering. Although these boots aren't the best in terms of warmth they have a very high comfort rating in my opinion. The 'Cradle' system allows the wearers foot to stay in place over all terrains and the lacing keeps the foot in place allowing for a sturdy journey with minimal fuss. The North Face Mountaineering boots are Gore Tex lined that keeps the boots water tight and therefore ensures that rubbing is kept to a minimum to reduce blisters. I have never encountered problems with the comfort or the sturdiness of these boots and uphold as very good quality boots even for the worst conditions and regions.
