Ventilated crown makes it cooler to wear on hot summer days and the chinstrap is great for retaining the hat when its windy - my fishing partner lost her hat (not a Tilley) when a gust blew it off.
Quite pricey for a hat, but then it is IMHO the best

Superb quality - should last for years especially as it's fully washable. Mesh in the crown helps keep head cool. Clever cord system that stops the hat blowing off.
Expensive - but you get what you pay for.

Light, cool & comfortable with a nice angled brim that protects the neck from the sun. This is my second Tilley (my 15 year old T4 is still going strong) and I would not hesitate to recommend the products.
Whilst the quality, guarantee and reputation of Tilley Hats are great - the price is not. I got my first one in a close out sale and I bought my latest one using a retailer voucher / offer but to pay the full price would leave me feeling a bit ripped off which, to me, spoils the Tilley experience.
