Gaiter Excellent fit
Reviewed By Eugena, 15 Feb 2014

Tried gaiter over past couple of days in this wet weather,
Socks stayed dry, I'm really delighted, will tell my friends.

very comfortable Gaiters
Reviewed By Paul, 03 Nov 2013

I bought these gaiters as an up grade to my previous ones which made my legs sweet as they were not breathable. I have only used these gaiters the once since purchasing them and i am really pleased with them.I wore shorts and you didn't know you had them on very comfy. I would of liked them to have a zip as well as Velcro fastening, but overall very happy.

Returned after trip, but not too bad
Reviewed By Joseph, 30 Aug 2013

I bought these gaiters before a trip to Greenland and, shortly after getting back home, I returned them for a refund (full marks to Cotswold on the customer service!). This was because of a rust that was starting to form on the hook that attaches to the bottom part of the boot lace.

I hiked for about 6 full days and there were some smaller walks on other days, too. The terrain was boggy and there were river crossings and the gaiters generally coped well. They felt comfortable but it was quite cool so I can't really comment on how comfortable and breathable they might be in warmer conditions.

However, as mentioned, by the time I'd finished these activities each gaiter's hook that attaches to the boot lace had started top develop a rust, which, after just a few full days hiking in any terrain, should not happen. I was told in-store that they probably would have lasted for a good while had I kept them and I was tempted because, as I've said, they were rather good otherwise. However, I felt that a full refund (as opposed to keeping them or replacing them with another pair of the same gaiters) was appropriate because I largely lost my confidence in the item.

Maybe I was just unlucky, who knows, but I won't be rushing out to buy Trekmates gaiters next time. I'll have to go back to my old ones (which have lasted for years with no sign of rust!) while I look for a new pair.

Only Part Breathable Really
Reviewed By James, 02 Mar 2012

I have used Trekmates gaiters before, but to me there is a design flaw with this model. The inside of the leg has a rubberised cordura panel to prevent damage by general abrasion and by use of crampons and the like. However it doesn’t breathe, so this area gets dripping wet. Cotsworld exchanged them, so top marks for excellent customer service.
