Scarpa has been making boots in Asolo, Italy since 1938, and the Parisotto family has run the company since 1956. That's not just brand history: it's why the leather models are built to be resoled rather than replaced, and why the fit has stayed consistent enough that generations of hillwalkers buy Scarpa again without a second thought.

Scarpa hiking boots, approach shoes, and climbing shoes in the range are built around a specific job on the hill, not a generic outdoor look. Vibram outsoles hold their grip on wet rock long after cheaper rubber has gone slick, and GORE-TEX linings across the walking range keep feet dry through a full British winter of use. Scarpa was the brand that built the first GORE-TEX-lined hiking boot in the first place, so the waterproofing isn't a bolt-on feature; it's part of what the company was built around.

Shop the full range of men's and women's Scarpa walking boots and shoes.

Scarpa uses Vibram outsoles for superior grip, exceptional durability, and all-round traction—even on wet rock or boggy ground. The design sheds mud, flexes with your step, and can outlast non-Vibram soles by years.

Leather models do, synthetic ones less so. Wear them around the house before a long walk.

Scarpa’s Delta GTX and Terra GTX models are widely reviewed as comfortable and robust for long British days—featuring shock-absorbing midsoles, plush linings, and support for tricky terrain.

Active Fit promises contoured interiors that cut out hot spots and rubbing, while Heel Tension supports your foot on tough ground, boosting stability on uneven or rocky trails.

Most Scarpa boots and shoes fit true to size for European sizing, but if you’re torn between sizes, it’s usually safer to size up—especially for hiking or mountain boots.

Scarpa built the first GORE-TEX-lined hiking boot, and the membrane keeps rain out while letting sweat escape.
