Ten points are contact with ice while you're walking and twelve bite into the slope during traverses. The last two front points are bi-angular to maintain bite when descending or traversing. Designed for ski touring, competitive ski mountaineering, classical mountaineering routes and for high altitude or remote expeditions where weight is the determining factor, the Grivel Air tech Light NM comes with the Flex bar, which allows the foot free movement without over stressing the crampon.
This version has a wider toe to accommodate broader boots, such as snowboard and telemark boots.
The New Classic is an evolution of the classic binding. Both front and rear plastic harnesses are hinged from their respective retention posts and may be "opened" to facilitate attachment to the boot, then closed securely once the boot is in. The single strap closure system is extremely simple and quick to use, making it ideal for rental programs and first time users, although not having to fiddle with yards of tape and freezing metal is something everyone can enjoy!
