To begin with, fans of traditional paper maps are well served by the printing function: print out A4 sheets of whichever area you need, from either the Landranger or Explorer series. Plan your route, grab your compass, and off you go.
Getamap is much more than just a library of maps for printing though! You can create your own routes, zooming in and out of the maps to check out the fine detail as you go. Once you've got a route, you can view estimated timings, see the height profile and add markers to places you want to check out, and add text and photos. You can also get ready-made routes, useful if you're going somewhere new and need some recommendations.
Once planned, as well as having your paper printout, your routes can be exported to a Garmin GPS for directions while you're on the go, and if you've got saved routes on your unit, you can import them with Getamap to store, view and share. Before you set off, it's worth having a look at Getamap for the quickest and shortest driving directions, as well as checking the local news and weather.
There's no excuse for getting lost now!

Their maps span the whole country, and they’ve just launched the next generation versions of Explorer and Landranger maps, which all come with mobile downloads of the map sheet for extra back-up and pinpoint accuracy when you’re out exploring.
