Patagonia was founded in Ventura, California, by climbers who needed outdoor clothing that could handle real routes, not shop-window weather. That's still the starting point for every waterproof jacket, fleece, and base layer the brand makes.

Most fabrics carry Bluesign certification for safer chemistry and lower-impact manufacturing, and over 90% of Patagonia gear is made in Fair Trade Certified factories. Waterproof shells like the Torrentshell 3L use recycled face fabric and PFC-free waterproofing, while insulated jackets such as the Patagonia Nano Puff and Down Sweater use recycled or responsibly sourced fill. Fleece jackets, including the Patagonia Better Sweater and Retro Pile fleece, are built from recycled polyester without losing warmth or feel.

Beyond jackets and fleeces, the range covers base layers for regulating temperature on long days, walking trousers and shorts built for movement, and a Patagonia backpack or duffel made from durable, weather-resistant fabric for hiking, travel, and daily use.

Buy from Patagonia, and you're buying into a business built around using less, wasting less, and making outdoor gear that lasts.

The Patagonia Torrentshell 3L jacket uses a 3-layer fabric that blocks sustained rain while allowing heat to escape during movement.

Patagonia offers series such as Down Sweater (lightweight down insulation for chilly days), Nano Puff (ultralight synthetic insulation), Micro Puff and Nano-Air (highly breathable, active synthetic layers), Torrentshell (waterproof protection for hiking and everyday use), and Triolet  (mountain-ready shells for serious weather).

Look for PlumaFill (used in Micro Puff series for ultralight warmth), FullRange (Nano-Air, for breathable active use), and PrimaLoft Gold Eco in heavier jackets like the DAS Parka, delivering warmth even when wet and top weather resistance

Black Hole® backpacks and duffels use ultra-tough, weather-resistant recycled TPU laminate and polyester, in a range of sizes (e.g., 25L, 32L) balancing feather weight, durability, and standout colour options—great for travel, commuting, or gear-heavy trips

Yes, Patagonia's alpine-focused shells use Gore-Tex Pro for serious mountain conditions, while other waterproof lines like the Torrentshell rely on Patagonia's own H2No fabric. H2No uses a 100% recycled face fabric and skips PFCs, giving similar waterproofing with a lower environmental footprint.
