With solar charging, the Enduro 4 runs for up to 90 days in smartwatch mode and up to 320 hours with GPS on in the extended battery setting. You can switch between battery modes to get more tracking detail or more runtime, depending on how long you'll be out.
Built-in routable maps sit on 64GB of storage, so you can load the areas you need before you set off. Garmin has added 50% more memory than the Enduro 3 and a new map engine, which makes moving around the map up to 30% quicker. A perspective view also gives you a clearer picture of the ground ahead.
The titanium bezel and scratch-resistant Power Sapphire lens stand up to rocks, rucksack straps and the odd fall, and the watch is water-rated to 10 ATM. There's a built-in LED torch with white and red light for early starts and evenings at camp. LiveTrack and incident detection let people at home follow your progress while your phone is connected.
