Rab Microlight Alpine Jackets

Sort By:
The Rab Microlight Alpine jacket is a highly protective and packable insulated layer, making it an excellent choice for mountain days.

Its performance starts with the Pertex Quantum® outer fabric—a soft, lightweight, and windproof material that allows the insulation inside to fully loft. That insulation is P.U.R.E Recycled Down, which is 100% recovered from post-consumer waste like old duvets and jackets. This approach gives a second chance to valuable down that might otherwise end up in a landfill.

The Microlight Alpine jacket features strategically positioned micro and nano baffles that use Rab's body-mapped baffle technology. This system intelligently distributes the down around the body, trapping heat where it's needed most while keeping high-heat areas like the underarms less bulky for increased mobility.

Perfect for climbing, mountaineering, or hiking in the hills, the Microlight Alpine is a versatile piece for any adventure. Longer-bodied and ECO versions are also available to suit different needs.

It is a versatile, lightweight down jacket designed for a wide range of mountain activities, including hiking, climbing, and mountaineering. Its combination of warmth, low weight, and packability makes it an excellent all-around insulation piece for year-round use.

With 700-fill hydrophobic down and 5+ oz of insulation, it provides reliable warmth down to -13°C. The Pertex Quantum shell enhances weather resistance, making it ideal for wet, cold conditions where traditional down fails.

The Microlight Alpine Jacket uses P.U.R.E. Recycled Down, which is 100% recycled and recovered from post-consumer waste. This gives a second life to down that would otherwise go to landfill.

Yes. It uses PFC-free hydrophobic down that repels moisture, paired with a DWR-treated Pertex Quantum shell for enhanced wet-weather performance.

Yes. The ripstop nylon shell resists abrasions while remaining lightweight. Rab’s lifetime warranty covers defects, and their repair service handles wear-related issues.

The included stuff sack reduces it to 15x22cm. While not ultra-compact like ultralight models, it balances packability with rugged construction.

Yes. It contains RDS-certified down and PFC-free treatments. Rab prioritises recycled materials where possible without compromising technical performance.

Absolutely. The adjustable hood, weather-resistant design, and tailored mobility make it equally effective for technical ascents and urban environments.

Down jackets require special care. It is generally recommended to wash them as infrequently as possible, and when you do, to use a specialised down wash. They can be hand-washed or machine-washed on a gentle cycle, and it's important to tumble dry them on a low heat with a few dryer balls to help the down re-loft properly.
