Taking inspiration from the hugely popular Helium UL, the Nexus is a semi-freestanding tent designed for adventurers who want more space without sacrificing stability. Its smart double-door, double-porch layout offers plenty of room for two people, along with generous space for gear storage or a sheltered cooking area. Pre-bent poles increase head height, creating a more comfortable and liveable interior for longer trips.
At the heart of the Nexus is its robust PowerLite Plus pole design, engineered to form four triangulated shear walls when pitched. This structure improves stability and helps prevent inward pole rotation, one of the most common causes of pole failure in harsh weather. The simple crossover design pitches quickly, making it easier to set up when conditions change, and it can be pitched flysheet-first to provide fast protection from the elements.
The flysheet is made from Protex 15 SRN, a lightweight yet tough 15-denier silicone-reinforced ripstop nylon with a 3,000 mm hydrostatic head. Its lower profile sits closer to the ground, helping reduce splashback and water ingress, making it especially well suited to northern European and maritime climates. A classic dome-style shape adds further stability while maintaining excellent internal volume.
Inside, the tent balances durability and comfort with a breathable ripstop nylon and mesh inner that improves airflow and reduces condensation. The 70D ripstop nylon groundsheet features a 6,000 mm waterproof rating and a bathtub design that extends up the inner to keep you dry in poor conditions. Mesh vents and partial mesh doors enhance ventilation while keeping insects out, and smooth-running O-shaped door zips can be opened easily with one hand.
For added confidence in exposed camps, the Nexus UL2 includes Vango’s TBS Pro Tension Band System, which reduces sideways movement in strong winds. Lightweight Dyneema
