For a reliable, powerful and compact light, the Cateye AMPP 400 Front Light is an impressive piece of kit that ticks all the boxes. Reaching up to 400 lumens in its daytime mode, it’s incredibly bright, and with an extended side lens it lights more of the road and paths than ever before. Its FlexTight bracket fits bars up to 35mm and even some aero bars and is also waterproof rated IPX4 so won’t be affected by the rain. It also has memory of the mode you were last on, an illuminated power button which turns red when it dips to 20% and can last 60 hours in flashing mode. Also, its polycarbonate body with improved scratch resistance means that it’s incredibly durable and is the perfect commuting companion for those dark winter rides.
