Select a snug fit that allows full mobility without restricting breathing or movement. Key measurements include chest and neck-to-crotch length. Test flexibility by raising your arms and rotating them—restrictions indicate improper sizing. A well-fitted wetsuit retains a thin water layer for insulation while preventing excess cold water flow. 

A snug fit traps a thin water layer that your body heats, maintaining warmth. Loose areas allow cold water to flush in, reducing insulation and creating drag, which can strain movement and increase drowning risk. Properly fitted shoulders and torso prevent chafing and mobility issues during activities.

Fully unzip the suit, step in feet-first, and gradually pull it up, adjusting legs and arms before sealing zippers. Use a plastic bag over hands/feet to ease entry, and ensure no folds or wrinkles remain. Move arms in circular motions to confirm unrestricted mobility. 

Rinse thoroughly with cold fresh water after each use to remove salt, sand, and chlorine. Use wetsuit-specific shampoo occasionally to eliminate odours. Hang inside-out on a wide hanger in shade—never dry in direct sunlight or use heat sources. 

Prioritize flexible neoprene for mobility, flatlock seams to reduce chafing, and reinforced knees/elbows for durability. Thickness (3-5mm) should match water temperature and activity intensity.
